3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2011 Original rating, 2011-07-16: 6-4-7-4-13=3.4
Pours a clear light amber body with a large creamy off-white head. The aroma is hoppy with grapefruit, peach and pine. Also lots of malty notes which makes the aroma surprisingly sweet (if an aroma can be sweet). I have sometimes missed more pronounced malty components in IPAs, but this is a bit strange. Some caramel perhaps, but also a hint of wet hay, rotten leaves and basement. It’s not very pronounced, but still... The taste is medium sweet, medium+ bitter. Fruity flavours, citrus, pine, a touch of alcohol and a good deal of sweet malts. Medium body, soft to medium carbonation and creamy texture. A quite nice IPA, but the malty stuff is a bit disturbing.

No off-aromas this time, no rotten leaves. The aroma is very nice with lots of fruits (peach, grapefruit), and the smell of rotten leaves is replaced by pleasant notes of ripe berries. The taste and flavour are also good stuff, but for an IPA I find this ale a little dull. A little to faint aroma, the finish isn’t really that bitter and the flavours are not exactly in-your-face. It’s gentle, well balanced and easy to drink, but...

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Pikkulintu, 20110716) The beer poured amber and a little bit hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma was very fruity, hoppy and it had a hint of malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, hops, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. An average beer with very fruity hop profile.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 50 cl at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Poured clear pale copper in colour with creamy white head. Pleasant mild fruity and floral aroma, feels walking out on a field in the countryside in summertime. Light exotic fruits in flavour with just a small hint of bitterness. Later on also somekind of wood comes to mind in taste. Fruity aftertaste but also a bit dry at the same time.

Bottle. [thank you, yngwie]
Light hazy yellowish amber with a small, bubbly and creamy, off-white head. Lovely hoppy aroma, some pine, apples, oranges, grapefruit, lemon zest. Fine crispy malts bill in the back. Medium carbonation, fine creamy and light dry mouthfeel. Flavour has some mild cucumber notes, apples, grapefruit, pineapple, apricot. Fairly elegant fruity bitterness in the finish. Quite a nice IPA.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance is light orange, hazy with a frothy foam top.
Hops are dominant with a citrusy taste. Taste is medium sweet and
beautifully bitter. Full body, creamy, lively, bitter finish. This is a wonderful beer, one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had. I don’t know what could have made this better.
