3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Kontoret. Hazy golden body with a dense white head. A quite light aroma of fruit and flowers with a hint of bubblegum. Flavor is light and refreshing fruity, light malty and moderate grassy bitterness. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Decent and quite enjoyable but a bit anonymous for my taste, still an interesting hop flavor here.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle at Kontoret. Cloudy, golden-amber body. Tiny white layer. Fresh, floral hoppy aroma. Superfresh fruity taste with lemon, peaches and orange coming through added by earthy malts. Smooth, mid-dry bittersweet ending. Distant oily palate. Soft in the mouth. Fine partner to the soup. Easy to drink. Nice (Bergen, 16.09.2012).

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Kontoret. A lightly hazy, pale golden beer topped by a dense, finger-thick white head leaving lacings. Fruity nose with some hints of burnt rubber, along with grass, flowers and citrus peel. Medium body, crisp and pleasantly carbonated. Some biscuity malts in the flavour, but the hops dominates. Some bitterness, but it could use a bit more, especially in the finish. A quite decent one, but a bit ordinary. 120907

500 ml bottle, as Ægir Kontoret Jubileumsbrygg. A gift. ABV is 5.5%. Hazy pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma of grassy and herbal German hops. Refreshing and well balanced flavour, moderate malty sweetness, acceptable herbal hops throughout. Decent beer, easy drinking.

Bottle. Pours unclear yellow, with a light, creamy head. Aroma is fruity with tropical notes of peach, mango and citrus, as well as flowery hops. A kind of light, thick body with soft carbonation. A good sweet flavour with notes of caramel malts, toffee, as well as flowery hops. Nice, long bitter finish.

Mixed tap and bottle review from both sources @ Kontoret, Bergen. This is the third contract-brewed beer in Bergen, and the second one from an established microbrewery. I do like this development! :-) Both versions look similar: a hazy hay/orange-hued body with a medium creamy white head. In the aroma, differences are evident: the bottle version has a rounder and more fruity touch, while the tap version is more herbal and grassy. Both versions have a lot of skunky grass, herbs, hints of cat pee and sulfur tones, but the latter are way more evident in the tap version. A bit pungent perhaps, but nice enough. Taste is more similar: pale malty lager tones with prominent NZ hops; I’m guessing Nelson Sauvin with its grassy herbal cat pee-like tones. Moreover, large grapefruit/citrus tones come forth after a while, perhaps from another hop (American?). Grapefruity bitter finish with that notable Kölsch/lager yeasty dryness in the back. Medium to light mouthfeel, and quite comfortable to drink. Refreshing and nice, and a good beer for the summer half year even though NZ hops are not among my personal favorites. A great initiative from Kontoret and Ægir, hope to see more of this! :-)
