Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Drukket hjemme 19 Mai 12. Dyp rødbrun. Høyt, litt farget luftig skum som varer og fester seg litt til glasset. Aromaen er preget av røyk. Behagelig. Smaken har et visst krydderpreg med undertone av røstet malt. Koseøl!

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy dark amber colour with a tan head. Moderate sweet fruity and a bit smoked nose. An unbelivable fine blend between a sweet fruity and light smoked flavour. Very well when the red sun goes down in the ocean. But Scotch and Lindisfarne....hmmm something wrong here....

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Dark amber body with an off white creamy head. Nice roasty aroma mixed with dried fruit and light smoke. Associations to beef jerkey, oak and brown sugar. Touch of licorice in the finish. Very interesting beer, this one! Much enjoyed.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.5l bottle. The pour on this one is deep and dark dark reddish and it has a fantastic looking dense and almost creamy off-white head that’s really sticking around. It’s mildly sweet and malty on the aroma with traces of caramel, chocolate, nuts, dark dried fruits and something faint smoky and black. Quite nice indeed! It feels really thick and almost creamy in the mouth with a subtle and soft carbonation level. Lot’s of flavor! I get burned caramel, dark dried fruits, roasted nutty butter and traces of both bitter chocolate, wood and something almost herbal-smoked. Took a while before I noticed the peaty smoky tones(blamed on this coming stright from the refridge), but they are most definitely there! Really tasty and definitely never to sweet or anything like that - something I always fear in these kind of brews. 05.05.2012

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle. Dark mahogany colour. Some small floaties, which I’ve seen in other of their beers, especially Tors Hammer. Smoky malty aroma with roasted malts and plums. Sausages. Refreshing hop profile. Sweet dark malty flavours with roasted notes. Fairly low carbonation level, could have used just a little more. Thick velvety texture. Overall a very enjoyable rich malty brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Was looking forward to try this one. Dark brown colour, with a white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, some chocolate, leather, butterscotch, licorice, smoke. Complex beer with a lot of taste. Roasty finish. A different, but excellent new beer from Ægir.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a deep, dark nougat brown body with a medium creamy off-white head, with some durability. Nose is peated malts, caramel and hints of bread. Taste is dark malts, caramel, peat, smoked ham and hints of toffee and licorice towards the end. Wonderfully smooth and very easy-going for a beer which is definitely bordering on the "smoked" category. Velvety, medium full body. Long smokey aftertaste with substantial amounts of roasty peat tones lingering. A very nice beer from Ægir, which definitely adds another dimension to their already diverse selection.
