Bottle at Amundsens Brewpub, Oslo. Opaque black beer, big fluffy mid-tan head. Smooth semi dry palate. Smooth dark malt with god vanilla oak that isn’t too dominant or sweet. Tangy dark malt with surpressed coffee. Subtle fruits underneath along with unsweet dark chocolate. Whisky is subtle. Complex and drinkable.

500 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget and shared at tasting. pours very dark reddish brown, almost black, with a small frothy brownish gray head that slowly dissipates while clinging to the glass leaving some thick lacing. Smell is sweet and malty with chocolate, roasted malts, wood, coconut, vanilla, bourbon and hints of coffee and liquorice fudge. Taste is sweet, biter, tiny sour and malty with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, vanilla, wood, coffee, bourbon, coconut milk and hints of orange zest and pine. Mouthfeel is intense, sticky sweet, tiny tart and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with bitter chocolate, wood and bourbon. Very nice!
