4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 25, 2013 (50 cl bottle from Den Nordiske Ølhandel; BBD: November 16th 2022) Pours black with little, tan head that recedes leaving lace. Decent regeneration. Aroma is oak, vanilla, bourbon and coconut. Oily texture, soft carbonation, medium to full body and a sweet finish. Flavour largely follows the nose - not a lot of bitterness. Very smooth, rounded and drinkable. Alcohol is quite well masked. An excellent beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
50cl bottle courtesy of ClubGonzo & Inbreak @ Post Toer de Geuze tasting. Fresh.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
50 cl. bottle sampled courtesey of ClubGonzo and Inbreak. Bottle nr. 275. BBF 23/10/2013. Light ruby hue, blackish, little to no beige head. Thick liquorish and molasses in the nose, creamy charred whisky barrels, sweet thick, chocolate, thick goo caramel,… Taste is thick syrupy, creamy charred whisky barrels, bourbon-esque goo, thick creamy chocolate, vanilla and thick malts, light caramel dark fruits, oddly same creamy and touch too light. Still this is very, very excellent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle - shared by sweet buttery butternut aromma. I do get coconut too. Mashy and underfermented. Nice smooth palate, but in some ways a bit watery. coconut again comes through in the soft roasty body. Finish carries nice soft vanillaey US whisky waves, leaves you with pleasant softness ans warmness. Even 3.6 might be an under-rate.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle. #1782. 183 LYN. BB 30/05/16. Courtesy of mjs.
Pitch black colour with a tiny tan head.
Alcohol (whiskey?), roasted malt, sweetness, darkness and more sweetness.
The flavour is sweetness, alcohol, whiskey and some hoppy dryness. Not boozy. But alcohol is very evident.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle, 0.5 l - BBE 30-05-16, courtesy of baggio, thanks Robert, 20130406) The beer poured black and oily. Its head was small and white. Aroma had vanilla, roasted malts, coconut and sweetness. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, wood, vanilla, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had vanilla, wood, roasted malts and bitterness. The Natt had softened nicely but the coconut component in the aroma was not a pleasant surprise.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Secret Santa. Pours opaque black with dark tan head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, little bit of the barrel, booze, and roasted malts. Flavors is like the base beer but lacking a little of the sweetness and this version has a little more heat and a light barrel notes with the barrel and vanilla. I liked the base beer a little more, but this is still damn good.
