On tap at Patricks. A clear one, dark golden in color and with a dense off-white head of two finger size. There’s some alcohol on the nose, along with, grassy, resiny and peppery hops. Fruityness and a touch of maltyness too. Some hay. It’s warming and full-bodied with a pleasant level of carbonation. The flavor is quite bitter and alcoholic, with a nice hoopyness saving the day without being improperly bitter. Lightly sugary and fruity finish with bitterness and some warmth. In my opinion, it’s too warming, at least considering it supposed to be a bock. 120509

Mostly clear amber colour. Small medium-sized white head. Nutty and malty aroma. Classic bock flavours with a slightly sweet mouthfeel. Rich malty texture. Nice, but tends toward the sweeter.

On tap @ Cardinal. Golden body with a dense off-white head. Aroma is refreshing fruity, some peaches, caramel and malt. Flavor is sweet malty, light caramel, hint of toast, fruity yeast and balanced bitter. Considering that Bock is not among my favorites, this is a really pleasant and outstanding sample.

Tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus. Clear amber with medium offwhite head. Sweet malty aroma with fruit, and a malty taste with hoppy finish. I find the beer a bit too sweet, but otherwise it’s a good beer
