Tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus. Clear amber with medium offwhite head. Sweet malty aroma with fruit, and a malty taste with hoppy finish. I find the beer a bit too sweet, but otherwise it’s a good beer

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours clear copper with a small white head. Aroma of nutty malts, peach, tobacco and marzipan. Taste is initially sweet, alcohol notes, nutty malty with some marzipan. Thick oily mouthfeel. Lingering sweet aftertaste.

Served in their new ridiculous looking glass, it produced a big, fluffy offwhite head on top of a clear as day light golden orange. Aroma is spicy, herbal hops, light floral notes, light acidic, some grainy malts, light toast. Maybe, and just maybe, there’s a hint of smoke in there. As it warms, a little alcohol as well. More caramely on the tongue, it also feels breadier. A solid acidic and spicy bitter ends this on a semidry note. Light bodied and sparkly. This wasn’t bad, but it sort of falls between categories for me. Not a sessioner, not a sipper. And I can’t help but think how awesome this would have been with a slab of smoked malts in there. I guess I should stick to smoked bocks. By all means though, I liked this well enough.

Tap @ Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri, Oslo. Pours a clear amber/golden body with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma is quite low malty with notes of thin sweet caramel and not much more. It’s medium-bodied, softly carbonated and has an oily and slightly sticky mouthfeeling. Nice and light sweet in the flavor, malty and slightly grainy with a light yeasty-fruity and medium dry-bitter finish. A good heller bock from Ægir, but if I had to choose, I would say that I liked their Påskesol better.

300ml on tap at Tilt. Clear, amber coloured body. Beige head when agitated. Semi-sweet malty aroma. Earthy and sweet malt in flavour with notes of hop bitter fruits to the ending. Mostly integrated alcohol. Smooth on the swallow. Good drinking (Oslo, 24.05.2011).

Tap at Amundsen. Golden clear, creamy white head. Aroma is not very distinct, i find malt and caramel, also yeast notes. Full bodied with good sweetness. Feel is quite oily and mouthfeel is quite dry. Finish is power bitter with good hops

On tap at Tilt. Cleat gold, low carbonation. Stron malty flavour with the proper sourish yeast charater. Warming alcohol. True to style. Cereals and some aromatic hops in the tail.

From tap@Tilt, Oslo. A thin creamy white lace, covering a brilliant, shiny orange-brown body. Clean-smelling delicate malt aroma with suggestions og grains and toasted bread. A nice whiff from the noble hops. A more than medium sweet malt flavor. A light alcohol-sweetness away from a clean malt body. Toasted bread notes in the flavor as well, and a light apple-fruitiness. Healthy body. Oily to juicy in the mouth. Light bitter, sweet malty endnotes. Smells very nice and drinks ok, but the flavor is a tad too far on the sweet side for my likings. Overall, a more than decent Heller Bock.

Tap at Cardinal. Clear copper with a creamy, fingerthick. light brown head that turns into a film leaving a good lacing. Tobacco, dried light fruits, band aid and peach on the nose. Sweet, alco warm, toasted, bitter and smooth in the mouth with hoppy notes of pine coming through. Dry finish.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8%. Deep golden colour, low white head. Moderate "dusty" lager aroma, nothing exciting there. The flavour has a nice balance between the malts and hops, fairly easy drinking for its strength.
