Batch 160, bought in Daglighallen, Trondheim. A great imperial porter with loads of caramel taste. Raisins, nuts and some vanilla is also present. One of the better porters I have tasted.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear dark dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, cigar, light coffee and alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, warm alcohol. Body is medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20110129]

500 ml bottle. Black with brown hues. Seemingly clear. Medium-sized light beige head. Bold chocolatey aroma with coffee and bitter licorice. Rich body with a rich texture. Carbonation level is fairly high. Surprisingly clean beer, but with a lot of flavour complexity. Bitter finish with more chocolate and licorice. Delicious. Would love to try this one oak-aged, which I suspect only would add extra dimensions.

One damn tasty beer. Bottle at brygghuset. Nose is chocolate, coffee, definitely hoppy, more leafy kind of amazing that they shine through. some licorice. really nice nose. Taste is smooth coffee, with a nice tender hoppiness throughout. One of the best of any norwegian brews I’ve had to date.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Meilby. Pours a murky, opaque brown with a vague whiff of orange and a small beige head. Hard roast malt and juicy prunes in the nose. Solid body, a little low in carbonation, hard roast malt, some metallic blood accents. Again pruney and juicy. Hard roasted malts in the finish. The booze is pretty well hidden. 290111

Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 5, 2010
330ml draught at Håndverkerstuene in Oslo. Very good looking with a lighter brownish hue over a pitch black body. Artworks to the glassware. Pleasant aroma of dark chocolate added by a bitter touch. Powerful taste of dark fruits, subdued candy sweetness and liquorice. Long-lived, rounded ending of bittering malts. Well balanced and well bodied slow sipper, 26.11.2010.

larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 2, 2010
Biggish deep beige head. Deep dark barely translucent red body. Fruity dusty earthy aroma with waxy wild berry notes. Dry-sweet roasty chocolatey earthy taste with lots of licorice, and wild berry and toffee notes. Fullish body. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry earthy dusty roasty aftertaste with waxy chocolate notes. Wonderful balance and harmony. Dangerously drinakble. Very similar in flavour to lots of East-European porters. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly.)
