#2250 Personal contribution @ Rampkrot Whale tasting – 50 cl. Bottle sampled. Traded with ClubGonzo thx. Pours black with only some bubbles. Nose carries some soy, meaty, malt, thick, light smoke, roast,… Taste is thick malts, roast, cold coffee, some roast, bitter herbs, light earth, bitter roast finish, some soy, bitter roast, light sugar, feels very old school, light carb. touch oily. Solid but no where near as good as the BA version. Lots of cold coffee.

Bottle. Pours jetblack with a small frothy brown head. All I get from the aroma are the roasted malts and a bit of chocolate. Taste is of lightly roasted malts, sweet dark fruits, chocolate, molasses and licorice. Has the taste of malts, licorice and...smoke in the aftertaste. Body is above medium but not full. Very sweet imperial stout and has no bite. Not bad, but nothing special either. A bit boring really.

Bottle@DeMolen. Milk chocolate aroma. Opaque, yellowish head, good lace. Milk chocolate, light bitter, spices, sweet, hint of soy sauce. Flavourful, bit too sweet for me.

500 ml bottle. Close to black body with a small beige head. Strong and pleasant in aroma, dark malt, coffee, chocolate and dark fruit. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, light roast, dry fruit, red berries, coffee, dark chocolate, coffee and balanced fruity bitterness. Fine body and a good aftertaste. Nothing revolutionary but damn good solid work.

500ml bottle, bbe 03/01/18. Pours thick and syrupy black with a small but thick dark brown head. Aroma is nutty, chocolatey, notes of raspberries, caramelized sugar, slight vanilla. Taste is slightly sweet, malty, roasted, chocolatey with a note of rum-raisins and smoke. Mouthfeel is gorgeous - silky, smooth and rich with low to medium carbonation. Lovely and very enjoyable.

Aroma is coffee, and some very strong aroma which i didn’t know how to describe. Taste is coffee and licorice, a bit of alcohol pushing through. Medium body oily full mouthfeel. Long licorice finish. Very good. A minus on the alcohol pushing through for taste and overall.
