500ml bottle, black colour, tiny tan mostly vanishing frothy head, excellent lacing. Heavily malty roasty aroma of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and plum with moderate herbal hops and some fruity esters. Taste is very smooth moderately sweet initially, turning into a long moderately bitter finish with an acetic feel and a hint of alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Wonderfully intense experience and fairly unboozy for the strength

Aged bottle. Dark brown beer, tan head. Chocolate, roast, dried fruit, some sweetness and hoppy notes. The flavor is very smooth thanks to the aging, lovely silky chocolate, some plum notes, mild roast, warm booze. Oily mouthfeel, full body. Like a chocolate-roast dream. Thanks Phil!

Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Best before 03.01.18. Served in a large snifter. Dark brown colour. A bit below medium amount of white to slightly tan head, which disappears rather quickly. Alcohol, red fruit, plum/prune and turkey nose. Thick body. A bit oily. Low to medium carbonation. A bit dry ending. Warming, and, in my opinion too much, alcohol. Bread, prune, turkey, chocolate, some apple and vanilla, butterscotch and caramel, toasted bread and leaf flavour. Quite high bitteress. Very good!

DruncanVeasey (7379) - NUNEATON, CONF N, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 22, 2014
Bottle at the brewery, Flåm, 25/10/14. Thick beige-collared ink. Aroma Jagermeister and coke; buttered burnt wood, mint and evergreen. Mellow oily Humbug taste with suggestions of dark chocolate, Jaffa cake, mint and orange, cinder toffee dunked in milky mocha. Thin body at the strength. Top end troll-beater but not their best.
