UPDATED: APR 1, 2011 Rerate 500 ml bottle 2011, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. The bottles are brewed for Ægir this year (according to the original recipe, with just a minor change) at De Proefbrouwerij in Belgium. Golden colour, hazy if the yeast is poured in. Large white head, nice lacing. The strong aroma has notes of floral and grassy hops (Tettnanger), some fruity and spicy notes too (wheaty hints of cloves). The flavour is medium sweet with some fruity and grassy notes, just a faint hint of caramel. Low bitterness. Original rating 2010: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Golden colour, low head, The aroma has notes of ripe yellow fruits, some flowers, toffee and butterscotch. The flavour has a noticeable fruitiness, hints of toffee and butterscotch again, "dry" continental hops in the finish.

500 ml bottle. Golden. Crystal clear. Delicate nutty malt aroma with notes of oranges. Crisp malty texture. Nicely balanced, and with a nice rich malty flavours. Non-offending, infact much reminiscent of a kölsch. Low carbonation level.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
50cl bottle from Fenaknoken. Batch 077PAA. It poured a bit hazy yellow colour with a medium big white foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma is malty with notes of grain and some unidentified fruit. The flavour is a bit sweet with notes of malts and grain. It has a short aftertaste. I find it too weak and thin for an easter beer. I hope they boost the ABV next year and go for something more powerful than a pale lager style.
