0,5 l bottle from vinmonopolet Sola. 1 finger white foam. Matt goulden color. Nose is some maltyness, caramell, alot of shed and nice floral notes.
Nice balance between sweetsness and bitterness. Some overmature fruit and grassy notes. Very nice hidden alcohol. A lovely double IPA

Lyst bittert øl fullt av sitrus smak. Godt øl som nok faller bedre i smak hos ipa elskere en hos meg.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BBE 04.01.15, from Alko Arkadia, 20130507) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and almost white. Aroma had exotic fruits, peach and malts. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, sweetness, malts and btterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, sweet and bitter. Alcohol was a bit too strongly present but otherwise pretty tasty double IPA:

Lys gyllen IPA som smaker bra av citrusfrukter. Bra carbonering og frisk bitter ettersmak.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 21, 2013 Bottle traded with Cunningham. Tropical hops juice in abundance. Mango, ripe pineapple and grapefruit. If not for some shy piney hints, one could fathom the Nordic tree Yggdrasil the name of the beer alludes to, was in reality a palm tree in the tropics. Thick, oily, alcoholic and warming mouthfeel. Full body with some residual sugars in the flavour, otherwise this beer is naught but hops flavour-wise. The grapefruity bitterness is not too strong but this is just fine the way it is. What a massively tropical hop bomb! Great!

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a muddy copper colour with timid white head. Fresh fruty and full of hops aroma with notes of dry prunes some caramel and honey. Especially refreshing ale despite the high alcohol level. Frutal round flavor that goes into the palate and gets like sensing some caramel at the end of the tongue. Medium sweetness, medium to high bitterness. full body, oily feel, soft carbonation and a spiced and caramel like medium bitter finsh. Good one.

Bottle. Hazy orange colour. Caramel and deliciously fresh fruity hop aroma. Nice citrussy hop flavours, good bitterness, great complex hop flavours. Probably one of the very best Norwegian IPAs.
