Bottle in our quirky Oslo Hotel. Hazy amber beer, little off white head. Light crisp palate. Very light for it’s abv. Smooth hops but with presence. Sweet grass and pine. Just a trace of tropical fruits. Minerals and creamy malt. Semi dry finish with very mild bitter linger. In a world of big heavy DIPAs this one stands out for it’s lightness, also for hiding the abv. Dangerously drinkable.

50cl bottle. Pours a creamy white head. Color of peach juice. Hoppy aroma, hints of roses. Flavour gives you chalk, prune, raisin and the grapefruit feeling. Sweet candy feeling without the artificial candy taste. You could say true flavours. Lovely! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Kontoret. Pours a very hazy dull amber colour with a medium off-white head. Aromas of sweet malt, dried fruit, hops, rye, and some esters. Find much of the same stuff in the flavor but is more sweet with addition of alcohol, wood, oak, and leather. A slick mouthfeel. The beer is nicely balanced with a rich and malty taste. A lovely double IPA.

An unusual looking DIPA: at first it pours an absolutely crystal clear medium amber/orange body, the second glass is still clear, but with lots of big sediments suspended in the liquid. So, no haze, just a clear body with large light-grey particles, a bit like a Halloween snow globe. Strange, and not that good looking. The off-white head is long-lived and consists of rather big bubbles that lace the glass well. The aroma is very pleasant, but less intense than that of the best beers of this style. The fruity notes are very sweet and slightly overripe: peach, grapefruit and mango. Also some light spicy notes. The taste is initially moderate sweet and moderate bitter, and not surprisingly the extraordinary long-lived finish is heavy bitter. The flavours are dominated by intense alcoholic grapefruit, together with some resin and peach. The massive bitterness and the obvious alcohol is a fun combo that provides a tingling sensation on the palate. Not exactly easy to drink, this is definitely a sipper! I’m usually not that found of in-your-face alcohol, but this one works. A nice beer with lovely violent bitterness, but it doesn’t look that great, the aroma is a bit too weak and the flavours are a bit too 1 dimensional (i.e. grapefruit, grapefruit and grapefruit).

Bottle (50cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Inch-thick fine-bubbled off-white head, good retention, some lacing. Slightly hazy, bright amber colour. Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, caramel, sweat, burnt sugar, resin, raisins. Full body, soft carbonation. Taste is semi-sweet with a solid bitterness, well-balanced. Alcohol nicely hidden. Long citric-resinous bitter aftertaste. The name deserves extra points.
