COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Aegir was the brewer for the gods in Norse mythology. Ægir Brewery offers a number of beer types - from light to dark. Interestingly, Ægir Brewery with its heathen theme has now brewed a traditional abbey beer. Originally, Dubbels were brewed by monks. The beer is light brown in color, medium heavy with a flavor of dried fruits and spices from the yeast. Enjoy the beer with strong cheeses and robust food, or alone just for the pleasure.

Pours a dark brown with two finger thick head that is beige and creamy. The aroma is very sweet, with strong dark fruit elements, caramel, and warming alcohol. The aroma isn’t backed up by the flavor, which is more dry than sweet, and more malty than it is fruity or spicy. Still, a very nice beer.

Big creamy longlasting head. Aroma is fruity, caramel malts, dark dried fruits, citrus, yeast, butterscotch, nuts, hints of coffee and caramel. Taste is well and nicely oxidized, fruity, a little watery, caramel malts, dark dried fruits, grass, butterscotch, yeast, strawberry, nuts. Medium bitterness. Nice, and one of the best beers Ægir had, both as fresh and aged.

10oz pour at Churchkey. Pours a clear copper bet with one ring of white head. Nose is wonderful, raisin, malt, cracker, cinnamon, almost like a graham cracker. Really lovely. Flavor follows suit, some melon, cinnamon, carrot cake, nutmeg, some cream cheese icing, Graham crackers. Sweet, peppery finish. Loved this.

Sampled at an ESBLS sampling. It poured an amber color with a small yellow head. The aroma was of notes of caramel, alcohol, yeast, and roasted malts. The taste was of sweet notes of alcohol, malt, over ripe fruits, and yeast, leading to a dry finish. Thanks Hayduke.

Gushy bastard! Maurky dark brown beer with a large , but short lived, pale cream colour head. Smooth palate with fine carbonation. Semi dry. Light malt and yeast. Lightly sour coca cola. Little spice. Light semi dry finish, airy. Okay.
