COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Aegir was the brewer for the gods in Norse mythology. Ægir Brewery offers a number of beer types - from light to dark. Interestingly, Ægir Brewery with its heathen theme has now brewed a traditional abbey beer. Originally, Dubbels were brewed by monks. The beer is light brown in color, medium heavy with a flavor of dried fruits and spices from the yeast. Enjoy the beer with strong cheeses and robust food, or alone just for the pleasure.

10oz pour at Churchkey. Pours a clear copper bet with one ring of white head. Nose is wonderful, raisin, malt, cracker, cinnamon, almost like a graham cracker. Really lovely. Flavor follows suit, some melon, cinnamon, carrot cake, nutmeg, some cream cheese icing, Graham crackers. Sweet, peppery finish. Loved this.

Sampled at an ESBLS sampling. It poured an amber color with a small yellow head. The aroma was of notes of caramel, alcohol, yeast, and roasted malts. The taste was of sweet notes of alcohol, malt, over ripe fruits, and yeast, leading to a dry finish. Thanks Hayduke.

Gushy bastard! Maurky dark brown beer with a large , but short lived, pale cream colour head. Smooth palate with fine carbonation. Semi dry. Light malt and yeast. Lightly sour coca cola. Little spice. Light semi dry finish, airy. Okay.

Bottle 0.5 l @ home. Dark brown with small head. Aroma is mild dry fruit and some sweetness. Malt. Maybee really vague notes of chocolate, not sure. Taste is very smooth and enjoyable, easy and cosy drinking! Mild bitterness, sweet and malt. A bit dull and thin, but enjoyable. My first abbey dobbel, so nothing to compare with.

Brown tall 0,5L bottle, abv 7 omg, thanks to Rune Tromsø. Scents of malts, fruits, honey, dark chocolate, hops. Medium brown beer, moderate head, nice ring on the surface of the beer. Taste; roasted malts, with licorice and chocolate, fermented prunes. Mouthfeel smooth and somewhat alcoholic. Ends with hot roasted malts, stain, chocolate. Fortunately no licorice disturbed the final experience. Thumb up.

Bottled. Pours brown in color with a small tan bubbly head. Sweet ripe dark fruity notes, light perfume and floral notes as well. Herbal, floral and dark fruityness in taste. Brown sugary notes too, but not that sweet. Okay, but not impressive for the moment. Sadly even a bit metallic towards the finish.

500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Small tan head with good lacing. Dark brown/amber body. Spicy aroma of coffee and sweet barley malt. Taste has a hint of fish. Also a little thin in the mouth. Not my cup of tea.
