English: Aegir was the brewer for the gods in Norse mythology. Ægir Brewery offers a number of beer types - from light to dark. Interestingly, Ægir Brewery with its heathen theme has now brewed a traditional abbey beer. Originally, Dubbels were brewed by monks. The beer is light brown in color, medium heavy with a flavor of dried fruits and spices from the yeast. Enjoy the beer with strong cheeses and robust food, or alone just for the pleasure.

medium body, Dark, at first not so impressive, but as it got warmer in the glass it developed and whoops it was gone. I really liked it, not so strong tastes, more subtle,

25.02.13 Uts: rødbrun, lite beige skum, lite kullsyre. Noe gjærrester og disig (proteiner?). Duft: mørk frukt og rosiner, sødmefylt og innbydende. Maltsødme og hint av krydret humle. Smak: føles ganske fyldig i munnen, søt og tydelig alkohol, nellik og solid bitterhet i ettersmaken. Litt dårlig balansert.

No smell at all(som sweetness). Red, brown color. Incredible. What a turnaround. Beautiful sweetness, mild bitterness. Vørterøl? Refreshing. Good. Mild. Great.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is cloudy dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie), with notes of eucalyptus, juniper, rosemary, Listerine, etc. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Rather off-putting medicinal nose...too much spice and not enough beer. Slightly better in the mouth, where it’s fairly balanced and creamy.

Pours hazy mahogany into a snifter. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Toffee and orange zest aromas. Thin with upfront juniper turning to bitter roots in the lasting finish

Bottle, 2009 vintage. Pours reddish, with a big, lightly coloured head. Aroma is burned malts, molasses and toffee, as well as a nice hoppines. Flavour is definitely on the sweet side with burned malts, molasses, burned sugar and kandi.
