COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Aegir was the brewer for the gods in Norse mythology. Ægir Brewery offers a number of beer types - from light to dark. Interestingly, Ægir Brewery with its heathen theme has now brewed a traditional abbey beer. Originally, Dubbels were brewed by monks. The beer is light brown in color, medium heavy with a flavor of dried fruits and spices from the yeast. Enjoy the beer with strong cheeses and robust food, or alone just for the pleasure.

Pours a hazy, almost cloudy ruby brown. A splendid and very large head that holds up very well. Aroma is malty and fruity, with notes of caramel. Medium and dry mouthfeel, with a taste of malt, spices and fruits. Finish has a dry and hoppy bitterness. Overall a rather nice ale.

Bottle. High white foam head. Visually dark, and the taste is instantly quite bitter. It’s filled with nice flavours and aroma of garden and berries. It gets even more tasty at around 7-8 degrees.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2013 Bottle at home. Pours a hazy brown colour with a huge beige head. Aromas of wood, leather, dried fruits, nuts and some alcohol. A lot of leather and wood in the flavour as well, and more alcohol and dried fruits. Has a soft and sparkly mouthfeel, and a medium bitterness. A good ale, but more on the bitter side for being a abbey dubbel.
