Ægir var ølbryggjaren til gudane i den norrøne mytologien. Ægir Bryggeri tilbyr fleire ulike ølsortar - frå lyst til mørkt øl. Interessant er det at Ægir Bryggeri med hedensk tema no lagar eit tradisjonelt klosterbrygg. Dubbel vart som kjent opprinnleg brygga av munkar. Ølet er lysebrunt, lett fyldig og smaken minner om tørka frukt og krydder grunna gjærstammen. Nyt ølet saman med kraftige oster og noko robust mat eller åleine som koseøl.

English: Aegir was the brewer for the gods in Norse mythology. Ægir Brewery offers a number of beer types - from light to dark. Interestingly, Ægir Brewery with its heathen theme has now brewed a traditional abbey beer. Originally, Dubbels were brewed by monks. The beer is light brown in color, medium heavy with a flavor of dried fruits and spices from the yeast. Enjoy the beer with strong cheeses and robust food, or alone just for the pleasure.

Bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Pours an amber color body with a light beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, caramel, nuts and coffee. Light sweetness with a roasty finish. Bitter aftertaste.

Julen 2011. Amber body with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, orange, spice, hops and brown sugar. Not as x-masy as I expected, but it is still a really good beer. Fruty and floral finish.

Fala wikingów wylewa się do kielicha i okazuje się, że pływa w niej sporo drożdżowych farfocli. No ale umówmy się, że w takim piwie można to zaakceptować. Niemniej jednak wygląda to mocno średnio. Skumring ma brązowo brunatną barwę i szczątkową pianę. Niczym wiatr z północy przynosi ze sobą aromat wiśni (a właściwie wiśniówki) i karmelu. Wraz z ogrzewaniem (choć w sumie piłem w temperaturze pokojowej) dochodzi aromat malin i suszonych śliwek. Choć jest piwem mocno owocowym, to ma wyjątkowo wytrawny charakter. Karmel z zapachu w smaku nie dominuje, a ustępuje miejsca brązowemu cukrowi, rodzynkom i winogronom. Piciu cały czas towarzyszy przyjemny smak orzechów. Piwo oczywiście jest nisko wysycone i ma odpowiednią pełnię

Bottle @ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Aroma of malt and light spice. Cloudy amber brown color, full dark tan hEad cover, bands of lace. Taste is semi-sweet caramel malt that moves smoothly through the swallow, adding fizz, yeast bread, and a hint of spice. More toward a watery consistency than anything else, but that is not a condemnation at all. It keeps that light and very drinkable. Solid brew.

Beer Table To Go, NYC bottle: pours murky brown with a small head. Aroma is booze and dark fruit and roasted malts. Taste is slightly bitter and very roasty. There is a taste at the end that i cannot quite figure out. Not too had. Interesting.

50cl bottle. Small beige head atop hazy brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, raisin, some cinnamon, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some raisin, light cinnamon. Light-medium body, light stickiness.

2013 vintage.
At cellar temperature and into a snifter. Radiant ruby chestnut displaced by a bad case of the floaties. Head lifts up a good inch and holds; Tight and tidy off white cream that laces well. Complex nose has earthy liquorice, milk chocolate, tar, prunes and dates in sweet syrup, molasses and toffee, peppery spice and just a touch of sherry. Robust, viscous and slightly oily on the palate with soft carbonation making it smooth. Lots of malt and yeast meld together harmoniously. Milk chocolate throughout. Woody, earthy and dusty with ample dried stonefruit and sherryish notes. Sweet upfront, vinous, fruity with a little tang of burnt fruit, hint of smoke and depth of wood. This carries into the oddly warming swallow. Very long and rounded. Hits above its ABV. Has a touch of roasted carob, tar, mace, pepper and vanillin to add to the nuances. I loved this ale. A wonderfully quaffable but warming and complex Dubbel. Disappointed that this may be the only bottle I get to try. Surprisingly good! (50cL, no date stamp, trade from Norway)

500ml bottle. Dark brown body with a medium head. Fudge, syryp, cinnamon, yeast & some nuts. Quite a lot of sediment.

Bottle at the cruis ship Viking Gabriella. Small light brown head. Clowdy red brown color. Much yeast debrie in the bottle that the waiter unfortunantly poured into the glas. Fine light caramell aroma. Typical belgian taste with both roasted taste and a sweet caramell taste in a balanced mix. Sweet but not too much. Low bitterness but balanced.

Bottle: Cloudy brown with a small, off-white head. Cinnamon, clove, toffee aroma. Taste is sweet, dusty, holiday spices.....caramel malt, light fruit. Not bad...but the spices seem a bit forced.
