Norwegian: Ølet er fløyelsmjukt og fyldig i smaken, med litt sødme og eit preg av sjokolade og kaffi, som kjem frå rista malttypar. Perfekt til sjokoladekaka! Ei smaksoppleving åleina.

English: The beer is velvely soft and flavorful, with some sweetness and a touch of chocolate and coffee, due to roasted malts. Perfect with chocolate cake. An adventure on it’s own.

First beer (back in) Norway- and a good one. Foaming weizen at the brewery, Flåm, 25/10/14. Coal-coloured with a dirty chocolate-hued swell of foam. Aroma of mocha, chocolate ice cream, rust and burnt wholemeal. Too cold chocolate and iron-tinged taste flecked with mellow smoky cigar-like linger and traces of peat. Good solid quaffing porter.

Dark, dark brown. Has an off-white head. Roasted, sweet aroma, notes of butterscotch and coffee with milk. Flavor too.

Weak aroma, but a lot of good taste - hints of coffee beans, dark chocolate and dandelion leaves. Coal black and powerful with beautiful off-yellow foam. The aftertaste is slowly fading, classically porter: Endurant yet discrete

Donkere bruine kleur met een volle lichtbruine kraag. Ruikt zacht, vanille, herfstfruit en beetje chocolade. Smaakt chocolade, koffie, vanille en beetje crème. Iets bittere afdronk.

courtesy of Thomas Schneider - hazy very dark brown beer with a little foam left; solid roasted chocolatey notes in the nose; full-bodied, tart, bitter and with a long chocolatey and nutty finish

Flam hotel with dinner. Really powerful flavor at 4.7% - tons of burnt chocolate malt and dirt. Great. Had a few of these. Our server warned me that THIS beer would make me hungover. I laughed and ordered one more, which I brought back to the room for a nightcap. Woke up the next day feeling great and ran to Flam church and back (7k) before breako.

Bottle from grocery store in Lillehammer, Norway. Pours dark brown with a generous white head that doesn’t last longer than the first sip. Aroma is milk chocolate and coffee. Medium mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly roasted malts and some chocolate, mildly bitter. It’s decent for the abv, a porter on the lighter side of everything, but easy to drink. Just ok.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Tulip. Very dark brown pour. Large tan head. Silky body. Lots of dark roasted malts. Cocoa. French coffee. Plum pudding. Charcoal chocolate milk. Only very light smoke. Soft and dark. Quite nice actually.

Tap @Ægir brewpub Flåm 140609. Opaque black color; good creamy tan head, reduces after a while to thin layer, not that much lacing; aroma of licorice, dark fruits, roasted malts, caramel,’hopjes’, some dark chocolate; moderate sweetbitter taste; medium texture, a bit thin mouthfeel; smooth sweetbitter aftertaste, with hints of coffee and chocolate.
