COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Norwegian: Ølet er fløyelsmjukt og fyldig i smaken, med litt sødme og eit preg av sjokolade og kaffi, som kjem frå rista malttypar. Perfekt til sjokoladekaka! Ei smaksoppleving åleina.

English: The beer is velvely soft and flavorful, with some sweetness and a touch of chocolate and coffee, due to roasted malts. Perfect with chocolate cake. An adventure on it’s own.

Pours black colour with tan head. Roasted malts and a note of milk chocolate aroma, fresh. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter, some subtle coffe notes and very malty round flavour. Medium body, creamy, soft carbonation and a short dry finish. Ok.

Norwegian supermarked: Pours a near black with a light brownish head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is mostly standard porter taste. It is rather smooth and medium-bodied. Chocolate is somewhat milk chocolate. Roasted malt flavour present throughout. Nice and smooth, but ultimately forgettable.

Nice aromas of coffee, chocolate and charred steak. Lovely with steak (for that reason). A bit light in body and can taste thin, especially when drunk too cold.

Bottle @ Bar in Bergen. Black coloured beer with a medium off white head. Heavy roasted chocolaty hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is stronger roasted malty with hints of sweet chocolat. Not bad. 373813

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 08.01.2011
Aroma is roasted with coffee, some semi‐dark chocolate and cocoa. Flavour has chocolate, some cocoa and coffee. Very good Porter for this ABV, definitely the best of Ægir <4,8% beers.

I was suprised of how fruity this ale was, thought I’d be much dryer. Taste of coffee, chocolate and a bit roasty. A very nice porter, that’s easy to drink.

50 cl bottle from Vaaland, Bryne. Pours thick, black with a firm medium tan head that dissipates quickly, weak lacing. Aroma is somewhat dissapointing, a bit thin some pastry and chocolate milk. A little metallic on the taste initially, but very characteristic porter flavours of chocolate, coffee and malts. Hops are noticable but not intrusive, also a bit of ice-coffeeon the palate. Dosen’t last very long. All in all, a fairly decent porter, but not very exciting or very memorable, just a little more than ok.
