COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Norwegian: Ølet er fløyelsmjukt og fyldig i smaken, med litt sødme og eit preg av sjokolade og kaffi, som kjem frå rista malttypar. Perfekt til sjokoladekaka! Ei smaksoppleving åleina.

English: The beer is velvely soft and flavorful, with some sweetness and a touch of chocolate and coffee, due to roasted malts. Perfect with chocolate cake. An adventure on it’s own.

Not a very aromatic beer with hints of sweet malt and som roast. The appearance is black with a small beige cappucino head that stays all the way. It has taste of caramel, dark chocolate and some roasty coffee in the end. Feels very oily and slightly creamy, and a bit thin in the mouth. Overall a good porter, but not as thick and creamy as the more fullbodied around.

Sötaktig doft. Mycket söt smak av kaffe och choklad. Något tunn kropp men en småhet eftersmak. En ganska stabil vardagsporter.

Bottle from K-Supermarket, Kamppi, Helsinki. Deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and some coffee. Some light notes of hops in the taste. Also ash and a good bitterness. A tasty beer for the low amount of alcohol.

Bottle from Ægir Bryggeri. Pours black with tan head. Light aroma of chocolate, coffee, malts. Flavor has same aspects with a little dark fruit. Drinkable beer but a little too mild in flavor.

Kestral (506) - Årnes, NORWAY - MAY 25, 2011
Bottle. Pours black with brown edges, and a small, semi-fizzy tan head. Aroma is mostly sweet roasted malts, a little bit of burnt sourness, and quite a bit of dark fruitiness. A hint of cocoa. As it warms, more coffee and chocolate comes out, but not much. It’s very clean roast malt heavy. Very well balanced flavourwise. A solid sweetness is well played against the coffee note and following dryness and bitterness than the nose deceivingly didn’t give away too much of. A bit light bodied, but I’m impressed by how creamy and full this feels for 4,7%. All in all a classic, well balanced and crafted ale that I really don’t drink enough of.
