05.12.2009, 0,5l Bottle, Batch/Lot 115POR. Dark brown colour with tan head. Aroma is rich with roasted malts and bitterness. There is a very nice roasted sweetness. Aftertaste is tastefull and bitter. This is a very nice and rich porter considered that it only has 4,7%abv.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Kestral (505) - Årnes, NORWAY - MAY 25, 2011
Bottle. Pours black with brown edges, and a small, semi-fizzy tan head. Aroma is mostly sweet roasted malts, a little bit of burnt sourness, and quite a bit of dark fruitiness. A hint of cocoa. As it warms, more coffee and chocolate comes out, but not much. It’s very clean roast malt heavy. Very well balanced flavourwise. A solid sweetness is well played against the coffee note and following dryness and bitterness than the nose deceivingly didn’t give away too much of. A bit light bodied, but I’m impressed by how creamy and full this feels for 4,7%. All in all a classic, well balanced and crafted ale that I really don’t drink enough of.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OleR (4247) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 25, 2008
500 ml bottle. Mostely lasting espresso head over a an opaque, dark mahogny body. Inviting aroma of cocoa powder and milk-chocolate. Notes of vanilla and dark fruits. Taste has a clean malt-sweetness. Lovely. Coffe notes, and an accent of dark dried fruits. Some mild bittering hops underneath. A filling beer considering the low abv. Likeable, powerful and moreish.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 tykjen (182) - Florø, NORWAY - JUL 28, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 3, 2007 On tap at the brewpub 28.07.07. Ok head and carbonation. Very dark with only a faint glow of red. The aroma is dominated of roasted and burnt, acrid notes from the malt. Rich fruitiness from the yeast. Slighly sweet finish with nice, clean bitterness, alcohol and dark, dried fruits. A bit thin in the mouth. A good porter, but the roastiness takes a bit too much of the focus form this porter. A fantastic combination with the chocolate and raspberry cake at the brewery.
04.08.07: According to the brewer the one I tasted was only 4,7% due to fermentational difficulties.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TET (1099) - FINLAND - JAN 5, 2011
Black beer with big and brown head. Aroma is balanced and great, rostiness, coffee, sweetness, milk chocolate and some sourness. Taste continues greatly from aroma, roasted and chocolate, smooth and tastefull. Smooth and nice to drink and surprisingly, almost full-bodied. Tastefull, complex, low alc. % and enjoyable porter; very positive surprise for me.

500 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee and a hint of liquorices. Flavor is mild roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and dry fruit. Tasty and easy drinkable, well balanced porter in a lower alcohol range. Very nice when served at the right temperature (not cold).

Bottle bought at Fenakroken, Oslo. Pours almost black with a medium light brown head. Nose promises sweet chocolate and espresso. Flavours are quite sweet, but marked by roasted malts. Soft on the tongue. Enjoyable, though slightly on the sweet side. An upscale version of their Amber Ale.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 faroeviking (10300) - FAROE ISLANDS - OCT 15, 2012
Botella. Deep dark brown colour with a huge light brown head, well lasting good lacing. Pleasant roasty malty smoky bit aroma with chocolate. Good filling mouthfeel. Pleasant flavour of roasted malt with chocolate and bit smoke to it too. Good bitterness. Well balanced and only 4,7% alc. Tasty brew indeed. Thanks a bunch Rune!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 espenra (764) - Kurland, NORWAY - DEC 26, 2008
50cl bottle from Fenaknoken. Batch 035P0. It poured a black colour with a huge beige foamy colour that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma is malty with notes of roasted coffee and dark caramel. The flavour is dry and slightly bitter with notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and hints of malt. Unfortunately the flavour gets a bit thin and watered down after a while. It has a lingering aftertaste.
