Tap@Brewery. Virtually pitch black beer with a strong but soon disappearing brown head. The aroma is lightly roasted and the flavour is well roasted and mildly bitter. Overall a good but fairly average beer.

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 08.01.2011
Aroma is roasted with coffee, some semi‐dark chocolate and cocoa. Flavour has chocolate, some cocoa and coffee. Very good Porter for this ABV, definitely the best of Ægir <4,8% beers.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bathory (54) - Bryne, NORWAY - MAY 16, 2012
I was suprised of how fruity this ale was, thought I’d be much dryer. Taste of coffee, chocolate and a bit roasty. A very nice porter, that’s easy to drink.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 alfhansen (15) - Bryne, NORWAY - FEB 25, 2012
50 cl bottle from Vaaland, Bryne. Pours thick, black with a firm medium tan head that dissipates quickly, weak lacing. Aroma is somewhat dissapointing, a bit thin some pastry and chocolate milk. A little metallic on the taste initially, but very characteristic porter flavours of chocolate, coffee and malts. Hops are noticable but not intrusive, also a bit of ice-coffeeon the palate. Dosen’t last very long. All in all, a fairly decent porter, but not very exciting or very memorable, just a little more than ok.

7th November 2011 On tap at Cask Pub & Kitchens Norwegian Beer Festival. Opaque black beer, little tan head. Served from a jug in the fridge as it was a bit lively out of the tap! Smooth palate, silky. Smooth dark malt, no roast or bitterness. A suprisingly fruity tang in this one - melon and raspberry! Mild lactose. Fades away quickly in to not very much which is a shame - great start, startling mid, very weak finish.

Cask at CASK. Jet black with fine beige head. Aroma of treacle and red fruit. Roast sweet body with dry malt and dry chocolate finish.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Foffern (272) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 24, 2011
Not a very aromatic beer with hints of sweet malt and som roast. The appearance is black with a small beige cappucino head that stays all the way. It has taste of caramel, dark chocolate and some roasty coffee in the end. Feels very oily and slightly creamy, and a bit thin in the mouth. Overall a good porter, but not as thick and creamy as the more fullbodied around.
