I knew a guy named Thir once. He would have liked this one, I think. Clear amber color. Aroma of boozy caramel. Taste is like snorting pure caramel, and a bit of spice. East to get hammered drinking half a liter of this bad boy. Best shared.

28th March 2012 Bottle at Grunnerloka. Clear amber beer. Big head - very pale tan. Smooth dry palate. Sweet malt - quite an intense caramel. Some hop, well buried. Inevitably some alcohol aniseed and warmth but generally copes with it’s high abv. Some slightly burned toffee in the head. Drinkable big ol’ barleywine!
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 str023 (107) - Stokmarknes, NORWAY - MAR 30, 2012
From bestillingsutvalget at Vinmonopolet. Pours a hazy amber color body in the glass with a thin off white head. Sweet and fruty smell of brown sugar, orange and port. Quite alcoholic on the nose. Delicious taste of brown sugar, clementines/orange, hops and creamy caramel. The alcohol is well integrated in the taste and the overall impression of this "barleywine" is very impressive indeed!

50 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu, BBE 13.09.2020
Sweetish aroma is very typical to barley wine with oaky notes, raisins, some sugar and fruitiness. Flavour is very sweet with sugar and some exotic fruits from the hops. Alcohol in the finish that almost disturbs. Could improve with age.

Pours dark orange with a small foamy white head. Aroma has notes of alcohol, fruits, berries and spices. Taste is quite fruity and malty with notes of spices and berries. Finish is quite strong and slightly bitter. Alcohol warms and burns through a bit too much. Okay barley wine.
