6 Huge toffee aroma, some fleshy fruit. And woh - if it’s not cold, the alcohol is huge.
3 Flat dark orange.
6 Sweet honey, thick and with some grains. Alcohol again biiiig.
3 Sticky and sweet. Bit too boozy, leaves you afaid to breath on a candle.
12 Covers 13% quite well by tasting of 11%. Gee, thanks.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2012 Bottle. Hazy amber colour with a small off white head. Raisin and fruity nose. Sweet caramel flavour in the background with a mix of: raisins, fruit, alcohol, toffee.

Sweetish aroma is very typical to barley wine with oaky notes, raisins, some sugar and fruitiness. Flavour is very sweet with sugar and some exotic fruits from the hops. Alcohol in the finish that almost disturbs. Could improve with age.

Pours dark orange with a small foamy white head. Aroma has notes of alcohol, fruits, berries and spices. Taste is quite fruity and malty with notes of spices and berries. Finish is quite strong and slightly bitter. Alcohol warms and burns through a bit too much. Okay barley wine.

Pours hazy amber colour with small head. Aroma of ripe fruits like apricot, toffee, caramel malts, grass and yeast. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, toffee, ripe fruits, plum, mild raisins, wood and earth notes.

Pours a hazy orange colour with a small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, sweet berries and some herbs. Flavour of caramel malts, sweet berries, herbs and quite bitter hops. Medium bodied, quite sticky mouthfeel and a long, warming, alcohol finish with some berries. A bit too aggressive but hopefully this gets more balanced after couple of years of aging.

Slightly hazy red amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of fruit and marzipan with boozy alcohol. Sweet with malt and tropical fruit in the flavour and lots of hot alcohol

0.5l bottle. Have been looking forward to this moment for quite a while. Tor pours a beautiful cloudy amber reddish body with a medium sized light creamy beige and lasting head. Aroma is sweet, there’s’ notes of yeast, strong caramel, apples, a little bit of alcohol,notes of something that actually reminds me of candle wax, sweet plums and nuts. Really almost intoxicating aroma.. Relatively rich and full-bodied, average to soft carbonation and has a oily to sticky mouthfeeling. Tastes quite sweet and alcoholish. Also lots of caramel, some notes of raisin, malts and more alcohol. Hopy and bitter finish with a really warming sensation in the aftertaste! Found this a bit to unbalanced and actually not as epic and great as I had hoped for. Still, good as a slow sipper, quite heavy and a absolutely decent barley wine from the great Norwegian Brewery Ægir!

Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, alcohol, light plum and raisin. Flavour is caramel, heavy alcohol and light plum.

Pours a hazy and dark copper beer with an offwhite/orange head. The aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, raisin and alcohol. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness with alcoholwarmth. Overall an average beer.
