3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
If you want the definition of a Barley Wine you got to try this one. Little white head, dark brown and redish color. It tastes like very strong caramel combined with dried fruits. Maybe apricot, mango and dates. I can not taste the alcohol in this one, and it’s so easy to drink that it scares me ( if you think of the 13,2% ABV. ) Very nice barley wine.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared with Veitafan at Flåmsbrygga. The colour is deep brownish orange and is hazy with a small beige coffee-like head. Sweet malt in the nose along with liqueur, cognac, alcohol, dark syrup and some rowanberries. The flavour is very compact with a composition of the same and feels pretty sweet with a touch of alcohol. Has a soft and rich mouthfeel. A great barley wine, nice and balanced. Good for cellaring.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted from the bottle bon 13/11/2012, bought @Vika vinmonopolet, Oslo
Aroma is quite intense, all sorts of classic barley-wine notes, but with such a pleasant, elegant nuances on top.
Taste is immensely overwhelming, very intense and complex.
Just the only slight downside is a hint of alcohol in the end.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Palme. Pours a slight cloudy, amber colored beer with a small, off white head on it. Aroma is full of caramel, sweet malts, some molasses and very ripe apples. It gets way better as it warms up. Flavour gets from a lot of alcoholic sweetness at low temperature, to full, malty aromatic sweetness with a massively cloying thick mouthfeel to it when drank at room temperature. I did finish the 0,5 liter bottle by myself and it took me well over two hours. But it were two hours well spent.
