(Bottle, 0.5 l - BBE 12.05.14, courtesy of Rune, thanks) The beer poured reddish brown and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, alcohol, sweetness and plum soup. Palate was full bodied, warming and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were lot of malts malts, mildly alcohol, hops, raisin, vineousness and mildly bitterness. Too alcoholic and perhaps too young. I hope to have a chance to try an aged sample at some point.

Quick review; Unclear with a big foam. Sweet fruityness, raisins, plums. Rich mouthfeel, sweet and very fruity (not very dried). Present alcohol, almost to much, but it´s okey. Medium bitternes

Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma is very sweet malty with notes of caramel, dried fruits and spices. Taste is medium to heavy sweet, light bitter and gives a nice warmth from the alcohol. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Pours cloudy and muddy brown orange colour with a small tan head. Strong aroma of dry fruits, caramel and some dugh. Heavy sweetness in the taste with the presence of raisins, dry apples and spicy notes. Lightly bitter, very heavy and round flavour. the alcohol is present maybe not so much in the palate but in your head. Full body, sticky, soft carbonation and a medium sweet and light bitter after taste. Worth the try.

Flaske 0,5 l fra bestillingsutvalget til Vinmonopolet. Mørk aprikosfarget. Litt uklar.

17.10.2010, 0,5l Bottle. This is my beer rating number 700! Dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is strong malty, its sweet, this beer really haa a rich body. This beer really has a lot of everything. Im not sure if Barley wine is my kind of beer, but I can tell that this is a tastefull quality beer. The sweetness is very vell balanced with the alcohol, this is a strong beer. But it is the malty sweetness that gives this beer its taste.

Bottle. Medium brown muddy body. No head. Very heavy sweet malty aroma. Licorice, dried fruit, a little chocolate. Heavy, heavy sweet flavour. Much like the aroma, with a not pleasant bitter finish. A little too much of everything here. (Skarven, Tromsø, 27.03.2010)

Bottle. It’s a hazy copper-colored beer topped by a dark beige head. A real melange of aromas greet you welcome, generic dried fruits, rum-raisins, oxidation, caramel, some wort, citrus peel, some resin, cedar and nuts are all well integrated, but it’s some percent too strong to be really enjoyable. At least the alcohol is too evident. Still, it smells lovely. It’s full-bodied, oily and almost sticky, just like a fine mead, but the flavors are more diverse. A bit more hoppy flavors would have been fine, but I guess that’s hard to accomplish in a beer needing cellaring to mellow. At least there’s a decent amount of bitterness to deal with the sweetness. A bit too warm in the mouth, and it lasts for a while as well. I guess I’ll have to buy a few more to lay down in the cellar, it’s much smoother now than when I first tasted it in May 2009, but it will probably smoothen even more. Looking forward to it. 100805
