MicroGrog (240) - Slurping on Euro lager in Queens, New York, USA - DEC 18, 2012

Sampled in between sessions at The-Festval in Worcester, MA. 6%abv edition.
Mellow yellow, white wine sort of color. Just a touch of haze.
Husky, perry-ish florals, soapy scent.
Tastes is hay & core. White grapes. Mellow, minerally flesh, & soft tannins.
Solid acid, shy tartness, Just a peep of ugly alcohol. Moderate sulfites. Spritzy.
Not my favorite on the table that day. Needs a revisit.

Bottle shared by rschnake...thanks Rob! - Pours clear golden with a thin bubbly ring of white head. Nose is sweet apple skins, real pungent with a touch of baking spice. Taste is about the same, though the apples have a bit more bitterness to it. Sweet up front, with the bitterness coming through on the finish. Slick and medium bodied, with little carbonation.

Draft at Churchkey. Really a delicious cider, that tastes frighteningly just like apple juice. I don’t think I actually buy that this is 10%, but I suppose its possible. Great sweet apple flesh, touches of tannic skin dryness. Yummy.

Enjoyed at a winery tasting. Pours a bright gold with a small white head and has a clean apple smell. The taste is very light with a clean finish.

Sampled at ÆppelTreow Winery. The cider had a darker body than I would have expected. Spicy. Earthy green apples. Easy to drink body.

On tap as AeppelTreow Kinglet Cider (although listed as 5.8%) at Beer Revolution. Pours with a clear golden yellow body with minimal signs of carbonation. Some legs. Aroma is a bit corky and a touch sweet. Light sulfur, cantaloupe, caramelized apple character. Flavors are light to medium sweet and very well balanced by tannin and a medium-strong acidity. Just a hint of effervescence (really minimal). Tastes bigger than listed at the bar, but not 10% (maybe 7.5%). Medium to slightly syrupy bodied. Overall very well balanced.

Draft. Crystal clear straw body, still. Aroma is moderately sweet, fragrant apple, ice cider intensity. Taste is moderately sweet, apple, some yeast/dusky, light cheese. Medium body, light stickiness.

750mL Bottle, poured at CiderDays 2010. Aroma opens with a bit of funk and plenty of complex chewy apple smells. A good bit cloudy, this reveals nice diversity in the apple notes quickly. Balancing tartness and unique wild apple strain yeast makes this one fun. The alcohol level is just not noticeable. Fun and unique.

Skyview (5031) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 22, 2010
On draught during GTMW 2010 Festival in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear Pinot Grigio colored cider with a clean disk top and thin tears. Aroma has a nice nose of spring floral, semi-tart apples, a touch of vanilla. Taste is light bodied, with flavors of crisp apples, a hint of vanilla, and more floral character. Finish is crisp, semi-dry with a light tart apple aftertaste that quickly disappears. Alcohol is well hidden.
