Bottle thanks to secret santa. The bottle makes no mention of spices (as the RB description currently lists). Pours with a hazy and exceptionally pale hue of yellow with minimal head formation. Aromas of lemon zest, tangerine, pear, baked bread, sodium, lightly acidic, tangy, some tannins. Flavors are very tannic for a perry. Dry, sharp, acidic, zesty. An interesting but light tropical fruit note. Bone dry tannins. Very interesting. A sharp, slightly minerally fruit flavor. A bit understated. Easy to drink. Dry, sharp, light bodied, tannic, medium to light bubbles. One of the better perry’s that I have had.

Sampled 2009 vintage from a barrel thief at the AeppelTreow winery out of Burlington, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-cloudy light straw cider that has some soft carbonation before adding it in the summer. Aroma of semi-tart pear, a touch of yeast and a hint of creme tartar. Taste is slightly dry with a decent pear fruit presence, floral with a soft texture. Finish is semi-dry, a touch of alspice, with most soft pear flavor I have encountered. Definitely a wonderful dry perry that I would be willing to pick up again.
