Affligem Blonde, the classic clear blonde abbey ale, with a gentle roundness and 6.8% alcohol. Low on bitterness, it is eminently drinkable.

Pours a clear gold with huge white head, very effervescent in my Chimay goblet. Zesty aroma of lemon and spice, a bit of sourness. Im not sure how long this beer has been sitting under the lights. Flavor comes on with a bite of carbonation, followed by a mild hoppiness and a bit of skunk. The sweet maltiness kicks in afterwards leading into a dry finish. Not very memorable.

Hazy golden color, foamy white head with massive floaties that made it look like vomit or something. Yeasty and lemony, light spice. Medium bodied, fairly easy drinking. Not too bad, just dont look at it or pour it in an opaque glass or something. God that looked nasty.

Solid head, cloudy orange body with tons of floaties. Lots of yeast and lemon in the nose with some clove and something slightly off. Quite smooth but Im associating that with butter for some reason. Yeast, lemon, orange. nothing great.

330ml bottle, compiments of Santa. Poured a nice light gold with a pillowy head that lasted through the glass. Fruit aroma with some spices. Flavor was light, and reminescent of a wit with orange and coriander there. The last half was enjoyed thoroughly with some cheddar claret and kalamata olives.

330 ml bottle, best before 22/09/06, with a 6.8% abv. Hazy golden colour with a huge but diminishing frothy and rocky white head. Orange, tangerine, coriander, and light alcohol aroma after an initial chalkiness. Orange, light alcohol, and lightly metallic flavours. Prickly and dry mouthfeel, medium body.

This is the first Affligem product I have managed to try but based on this I am really not impressed. This was really a bland and very basic beer that had nothing special to suggest it. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle the beer poured a straw yellow color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma was faint citrus - almost Wit like. The flavor was light sour malt, a hint of citrus, and a hint of spice. Again WIt like. While by no means bad, this beer really was rather bland.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2005 citrusy aroma. cloudy pale blond in color w/ a slight head that is refilled easily causing a tingly sensation on the tongue & mouth. fruity(apples?) with some light spices. nice balance. highly drinkable, especially in the summer time. 7% is hidden well.

Christams gift pack. Poured into the Affligem glass. Rich gold colour, just slightly hazy if the last ounce is swished aroungd in the bottle. Huge long lasting head. Nice nose with hops, spice and light acidic scents. Very drinkable. Had with thick BBQd pork chops and the beer really brought out the flavour of the meat and the spice. Nice pillowy texture. A delicate Belgian. No stellar flavour stands out but a beer that you could drink daily.

If I dont get around to it: All business, not much sweet, monster head, fresh/sharp fruits liek apple and pear are on our team. This brew is a classic, but also kind of junkie...I taste taco (tortilla) and this expense is one of them. Damn, I just glanced from my drunkiniee and whatever Im writing is solid... love it..im puttin biiillit studfrf in it. I no dropout.

next morning:What in the world?! I guess the Kwak I had before this one last night got to my head. All I can figure is that I was falling asleep while typing. Whatever, Im keeping it.
