COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Affligem Blonde, the classic clear blonde abbey ale, with a gentle roundness and 6.8% alcohol. Low on bitterness, it is eminently drinkable.

tap at firkin. pours a clearn golden with a small foamy white head. light grain and wheat. pear lemon and applesauce notes with some light spices. not my favorite style, in general, but this was decent. not nearly as good as westvletern blonde which seems to dominate. though this is listed as a belgian ale, but whatever. too much booze to be a blonde? i’m not sure. easy to drink. not bad.

resin, floral, caramel, nuts, earthy, alcohol, one of my favourite blondes, affligem is incredibly well balanced. tried it at 4-5 C and at 9-10 C and both seem to work

Bottle 33cl. Clear yellow ale witl low carbonation and good lacing. Smell is on yeast, agrumes notes and some acidity. Aroma is nice well malted, creamy, nice hop character and very nice finish. Body is medium, nice vanilla and cassis notes, bread flavor presence. Small acidity at the finish with yeast presence and citrus.

Poured from the bottle. White, fluffy head and lots of sediment made for a hazy, amber body. Lots of citrus and some bready notes too. Good mouthfeel and a nice bite of carbonation. One of my preferred Affligem brews. A slightly bitter finish. Overall a solid offering.

330 ml bottle. Unfortunately I can not get a fair read on the aroma as this bottle has been over exposed to light. Although I must say the head is quite impressive with good endurance. The head on this is as thick as a Guinness yet this is on a blond. A six pack of these would run you 30 bucks. Top shelf stuff here. This blond’s complexion is like gold with minuscule sediment sleeping in it, (you can tell it is not fake gold). A fair amount of carbonation at work here . A well rounded balance on mouthful. Partially earthy yet clean with just the right amount of spice.

Tap at G Man FW. Appearance is a clear golden orange color. Light ring of white edges the glass. Light fruity aroma. Some grain, too cold perhaps. Thin mouthfeel. Taste is faint and corny. Grain is prevalent. Surprisingly there is not much too this. Some yeasty finish.
