COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Affligem Blonde, the classic clear blonde abbey ale, with a gentle roundness and 6.8% alcohol. Low on bitterness, it is eminently drinkable.

Blonde lager aroma. Belgian spice in the yeast; bubbly and effervescent. Very Belgian overall. The appearance is huge, frothy head. Cloudy golden. Tons of carbonation. Lots of sediment. Does NOT look the typical blonde. Excellent head retention; shaving cream lace. The flavor is sweet malt with a flowery Euro hop. (Amazing what a lack of adjuncts can add to a beer’s quality.) Touch of lime and a minor citrus bite. The palage is fizzy like champagne. Drier than I expected. This is a really nice beer. Refreshing and appropriately sweet.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2011 0,33 cl bottle at Konijn Bowling Amsterdam. Pours cloudy golden with a nice off white head. Aroma is yeasty, citric and fruity and a bit hoppy. Cripy yeasty mouthfeel. Flavor is round, citric, yeasty, malty and peppery. Nice lean palate. Finishes with a pleasant bitter aftertaste. Very nice indeed.

Poured yellow and turbid with white head that disappeared after 10 minutes. Yeasty and not too hoppy with good finish. Not the best Blond I had but it was nice. Turbidity makes me think it may not have been stored correctly by the vendor.

Aroma very pear/bannana-ish, very nice looking yellow, my favorite color, with nice lacing. taste is very even but lacks a little variety, nice lingering and a solid bee overall, alot like Duvel, but not quite as good
