Affligem Blonde, the classic clear blonde abbey ale, with a gentle roundness and 6.8% alcohol. Low on bitterness, it is eminently drinkable.

DownsouthGav (601) - Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 25, 2007
Draught at Lowlander, City of London. Nose of fruits, malt. Pours a golden beer. Some carbonation. Spciy taste with floral notes present. A medium finish. Quite nicely balanced.

Bottle. Golden with billowy white head and abundant lacing. Yeasty bready belgina style aroma, some banana and spice. Spicy flavor profile with the expected belgian yeast character. High carbonation gives a overly crisp bite easily mistaken for bitterness, hotness or acidity. Drink this at cellar temps. Bite settled down once it warmed some. Very solid beer and adequete supplied with alcohol which is hidden well.

330ml bottle, 6.8% a/v Well carbonated gold colour with a nice lacy white head. The aroma is malt, yeast and a bit of spice. Taste is VERY alcoholic, not nice. Hop aftertaste is good but does little to fix the alcohol sting.

very pale yellow color on the pour with very small lacings. no smell due to being in a bar. smooth taste with no aftertaste at all and not too thin on the palate. quite impressive for a light colored beer.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 28 Sep 2007) Golden yellow colour, cloudy, with huge white head. Fruity, slightly yeasty nose with apricots, orange peel and spicy hops. Fruity taste with notes of apricots and spicy hops. Sweetish, actually a tad too sweet for me. Otherwise, a decent belgian blond.

rwgould (200) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 5, 2007
330ml bottle. Pours a semi-transparent golden yellow, lots of carbonation and a thick smooth head that persists. Aroma is faint and not very distinct. Kind of fruity. Taste is a little bitter, and is rather spicy. Kind of jumps back and forth between sweet and spicy. Quite pleasant. Palate isn’t that smooth and leaves a bit of a film.

This was an interesting find. It was a little sweet, but not over-powering. Hints of citrus (almost orange) more so than a normal Belgian. Honestly it was tasty, and worth a try, but there are other Belgians I would prefer.
