I have been drinking a lot of this lately and it really turns me on. I make sure that I get the yeast in the bottom into the glass for a nice nuttiness. Makes me really gassy though!

Christams gift pack. Poured into the Affligem glass. Rich gold colour, just slightly hazy if the last ounce is swished aroungd in the bottle. Huge long lasting head. Nice nose with hops, spice and light acidic scents. Very drinkable. Had with thick BBQ’d pork chops and the beer really brought out the flavour of the meat and the spice. Nice pillowy texture. A delicate Belgian. No stellar flavour stands out but a beer that you could drink daily.

Some beers just get it right. Peach-golden body, chardonnay like. Thick head of white bubbles, special for this style. Smells lightly of clove spice, vanilla, lime freshness, corn and coriander. Taste is sweet and delicious with the right amount of dryness from the clove and coriander. Drying carbonated water finish. And to think, this cost less than a dollar at TJ’s

I really enjoyed this. Smooth, creamy, long-lasting head, excellent fruit aroma. Smooth given the alcohol content but not sweet. Sharp on the palate but not harsh.

Much better than anticipated. Just fruity enough for my taste. Wish it was easier for me to get.

Pours golden w/ a full lasting semi creamy froth. Nice lacing, full and sticky. Aromas of crisp malted banana meal. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Strongly flavored w/ creamy vanilla stuffed bananas and crisp wild apples. Mildly spiced w/ a perfect peachpit bittering that sets in midpalate and sticks through to the finish. The finish is long and lingering w/ a nice bittering component. The abundance of crispy effers keeps this one alive and on it’s toes. Well balanced. Highly recommended.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2006 I rarely come across a Belgian ale I don’t like. Affilgem is no exception. Very drinkable. You wouldn’t know this is 7% abv...until you drink a few. Wonderful aroma. Great looking & tasting.

Bottled. No skunky scent which afflicts most imported beers. It had a little too much carbonation, in my opinion; but had a crisp, citrus, malty and hoppy taste. Excellent after-taste. Recommended.

Shockingly this is a very good brew. Aroma is nice and complexly sweet. Appearance is cloudy with a thin lacey head. Mouthfeel is nice malty smooth and flavor is full of complex malts.

Good mix of flavors and pretty nice to drink, but not Affligem’s best. A little too fizzy for my tastes but still a solid beer.
