VeloVampire (410), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 25, 2007 330 ml bottle - pours a slightly opaque oney colour with a one-finger white head. Very nice aroma of spice, yeast, citrus, and some banana as well. Almost Wit-like in the nose. Flavour full of yeasty spiciness and very dry in the finish. A certain orange-peel spice in there as well. Yes, eminently drinkable as the description suggests, though at 6.8%, that could get dangerous......Not hugely complex on the palate, but a very enjoyable Belgian.
branspra (86), Arlington, Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice golden color with a very large, white head. Aromas of bananas, pear, and a bit of apple. Lively carbonation with a smooth, slick texture. Average duration of aftertaste with a nice finish. KnN (350), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Nov 26, 2008 Very low key Belgian. Aroma is a little malty with a touch of sharpness from the yeast. Pours a nice golden color with about two fingers worth of fluffy white head. Flavor is very smooth, but a litle nondescript. This is an easy drinking nice Belgian beer.
Straling (89), Amstenrade, Netherlands Nov 21, 2008 Bottle 33cl.
Pours a murky golden/yellow colour with a small head and loads of carbonation.
Smell is very sour, but nice. Also some fruits there like lime and apple.
Taste is also sour and has some good fruityness there balanced well with the sourness. markwise (343), Just North of Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 18, 2008 Pours a deep gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is honey and apple, as is the flavor. The finish is malt and honey sweetness with a twinge of bitter and some cane sugar. TeamTrappist (200), jericho, New York, USA Oct 31, 2008 Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden amber, with a thin off white head.Nose of honey and belgian yeast. Quite carbonated, with a little bit of lager flavor to it. Served a bit on the cold side, waiting for a bit of a cool down to see if it opens a bit. Somewhat mild up front, with most of the flavor on the back end. Getting more of the yeast notes as it warms. Very drinkable, albeit on the mild side, but there are no offensive flavors here, nor is there anything super spectacular than stands out. But that’s what makes this a good beer, really enjoying the finish. This is one of those beers that is a perfect introductory beer for your non belgian beer friends
