Brewed for the 950th Anniversary of the abbey, 950 Cuvee is a blonde ale "quadruple hopped" for added spicy/grassiness with a dry, slightly bitter finish.

No idea how old this is, but there’s a loaf of bread floating in the bottom of it. Poured slowly, it’s a hazy blonde with a thick, creamy off-white head leaving a nice thick wall of lace behind. Nose involves floral notes, some sweet stone fruit, light pear, and light citrus. Fairly sweet, somewhat bitter, not tart. Medium bodied, fluffy, somewhat oily, with a flowery yeasty toward dry finish. Really surprising, quite tasty, good quality to it, and well executed. Perhaps fresher the hops would have had more to do with it, but it has aged gracefully despite not being a particularly strong or yeast-driven beer. Cork says 9/12, so guessing that’s the time of production?

Goed bier, ik heb het cadeau gekregen dus ik ken de prijs niet, maar als het niet te duur is, is het zeker zijn geld waard

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2014 Bottle at Beer Passion 2014. Antwerp. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is big Belgian yeast, malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a light dry yeast mineral boozy alcohol palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A frothy Tripel, but not the greatest. I expected better from Affligem.

Bottle. Moderate aromas all around, with cereal for the malt, orange for the hops, dough for the yeast, and honey, date and an artificial sweetness. Head is small, frothy, white with some lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy medium amber, but muddy and chunky on the last pour. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation. The sweetness is a little fake tasting, but overall it’s a pretty tasty Belgian Ale.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, leicht würzig. Geschmack leicht hefig, fruchtig malzig, Gewürze, blumig.

Sampled at Big Brew Beer Festival (Morristown). Poured a hazy amber color with a big off white head. Aroma of sweet fruit, grass, earthy grain, and light spice. Taste mimics the nose with a bit more sweet citrus.
