3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Moderate aromas all around, with cereal for the malt, orange for the hops, dough for the yeast, and honey, date and an artificial sweetness. Head is small, frothy, white with some lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy medium amber, but muddy and chunky on the last pour. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation. The sweetness is a little fake tasting, but overall it’s a pretty tasty Belgian Ale.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2014 Bomber; date reads "12 117 01" for date (2012?). Appearance: small white head, soapy bubbles, straw yellow, cloudy with particles suspended. Aroma: fruity, apricot, leather, hay, floral hops. Palate: light body, thin feel, dry finish, lively carbonation, short tart finish. Taste: mildly sweet front with heavy mild tartness following it up and rounding out the finish. Overall, a little overly tart for me and not too complex.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hazy golden - very lively carbonation that kicks up a frothy, well-sustained head - nose is floral, medium sweet (honey), with moderate muskiness, light esters, some flint/limestone character - despite the lively bubbles, the carbonation is soft in the mouth - moderately sweet malt gives way quickly to a medium dry flavors of wheat/grain, mineral, floral hops, moderate bitterness - sweetness returns for the finish and gets a little syrupy - there are also slight medicinal notes in the finish that increase as the beer warms - a surprisingly strong alcohol presence in the finish doesn’t help things - incrementally goes down hill - good thing I have some beer I know I like in the fridge for the remainder of this new year’s evening.
