A strong showing in the dubbel category. Malt is well balanced by bitterness. Cherry, fruity, smallest hint of chocolate.

Pours out brown with a big light beige head. Smell of caramel and red frtuis. Head holds ok. Somthing less pleasant at the smell. Fruity sweet taste with some earthy finish. Expected more, plain beer.

Bottle. Strangely light and dry. Aroma has dried fruit, a bit of sugar, and chocolate powder. Mouthfeel is pearly-fizzy, finish is dry. Flavor initially is bready, with a bit of raisin-prune through the middle. I prefer bolder examples of this style, couldn’t get into this beer as it felt unusually empty.

[2872-20100518] 330mL bottle. Toasted raisins and bread aroma with a little fruity bran. Murky, dark brown amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Fruity raisin toast malt grain flavour has a long fruity finish. Medium-full body. Good, drinkable.
