330 ml bottle, at home. Poured into a tulip glass. ABV 6.8% on my bottle. Pours a deep reddish-brown coloured beer, with slighty hazy body. A bit taller than one finger beige head, with good retention. Not much lacing left on the glass. Looks appealing. Aroma of dark dried fruits, raisins, some sugars as well. Nothing extremely complex, but quite nice aroma nevertheless. Taste is sweet, but only at first. Lots of caramel here, dark fruits again, some red grapes, candied sugar and a bit of toffee, some light spices too. Aftertaste is moderate bitter. Medium thin on the body, quite carbonated. Fairly dry palate. Overall, a nice dubbel, much less malty and more complex than I was expecting.

Dark brown beer. Medium but not very long head. Malty-yeasty aromas. Roasty notes are dominant: chocolate and some caramel and toffee. In mouth it is quite dry for the style. Low-medium body and medium carbonation, watery sensation. There is a light sour feeling which is not positive. Long and dry finish. Filip

A very good dubbel. Spicy, medium bodied, and rich. A bit astringent, some good toffee, caramel, and pepper.

Sample at the Fredericton Craft Beer Festival. Decent head in a tiny glass, red/brown colour. Fruity and sweet aroma. Tastes a bit like a thin barley wine, earthy and not that sweet. Didn’t get much of the spice or other Belgian qualities. Small sample size and unknown age of the bottle, or just beer overload at a festival might have worked against it, but I wasn’t crazy about it.

Eh, this just wasn’t what I was expecting. Brown pours, some malt on the nose but not that complex. Taste is too bitter for this style. I love hops don’t get me wrong but this beer is just too dry. Not even like too much hop presence it’s just a dry earthy flavor. I don’t really know what to make of it, not diggin it though.

Thanks again to my Bro-in-law. This pours a lighter brown with a tan head. Aroma of spicy syrupy malt with a slightly sour note to it. Taste is initially sweet with a foamy, creamy mouth-feel and a slightly bitter note balancing the malt. I could have one of these on a special occasion.

Big bottle while in Florida. Poured a red brown, with one finger head. Aroma of candy sugar, dark fruit. Taste is more dark fruit (raisin), coriander. Dry finish. Creamy texture with higher carbonation. A nice Belgium that I would get again.

Bready caramel aroma with some dark fruit and spice. Flavor is sweet and bready, with spice, alcohol, and a tiny bit of sour funk in the finish. Solid example of one of my favorite styles of beer.

Pours a cloudy dark amber, thin head which quickly dissipates. Faint aroma of malt. taste is slightly tinny at first but full on finish. Malty sweetness is present. Decent drink-ability for this class. Smooth mouthfeel. Not my favorite dubbel but not all that bad either.

Reddish. Aroma is sweet, fruity and a bit spicy. Taste is sweet, also fruity and not bitter. It’s an ok dubbel.
