3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 delnoche (352) - GERMANY - APR 25, 2009
33cl bottle poured into a Rochefort Trappist glass. Pours a beautiful reddish brown with ample tan head that lasts quite a while. Spicy aroma. Tastes like spiced apples. Pleasant palate with a touch of carbonation. Very nice beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Meatmallet (126) - Salem, Illinois, USA - APR 24, 2009
Pours a reddish anmer colot with a huge tan head. I notice a lot of suspended sediment swirling around the middle of the glass. Nose is a little weak. Light spices and apples are the only real stand out other than yeast. Taste is sightly sweet and a bit bitter. Lots of malt and yeast with a little bit of plum and apple. Heavy carbonation and a light body

Had this beer as Brun at La Bruette on Grand Place. Dark amber, nice head and lacing. Big malt flavor with some unusual spicy first notes, vanilla, licorice. It finished sweet but clean

Spicy aroma, complex mix of coriander, caramel, nuts, wood, yeast. Low, almost none of fruit aroma. Sweet (but not too much) light roasted malt. Dry spicy and carbonised aftertaste. Slightly sour. Unclear dark amber body, creamy big head. High carbonation.
3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Svensjair (3) - concord, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 20, 2009 does not count
A great brew, pours a dark red/brown with a fine fine head. Tastes of berries with an almost (and i mean almost) spicy finish. Would recommend to anyone for an easily drinkable , yet unique brew.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 BillyMidnight (41) - Alberta, CANADA - MAR 20, 2009
A mysterious brew. A deep, copper colour with a huge, frothy head. Very hoppy bitterness with strong aroma of plums and berries. Should be drunk while seated in a small room, while facing East and listening to Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti.

330mL bottle from Regional. Pours deep red/amber, I got quite a bit of sediment. Off white head. Nose is full of fruity esters. Apples and berries with a nice spicy malt.
Very fruity flavour as well, dark cherry dominates and tangy spicy malt sits in the background. Bready, fruity finish.
I really enjoyed this one, a decisively drinkable dubbel.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Slokop (100) - Tilburg, NETHERLANDS - MAR 14, 2009
After one week of drinking beers outside of my house I had this one from my own stack. To pour al beers at 10 degrees makes comparing to the competition more honest. This brew Is dark brown with a subtle and fine head. The taste was not sweet nor dry, not very hopish nor very spiced. This beer didnt suprise me at all. But its a dubbel all right, only because it says so on the bottle.
Not one of these beers that make you lock yourself in a convent for. Then again, that should never be the reason.
