COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A reddish-brown abbey ale brewed with dark malts. The secondary fermentation gives a fruity aroma and a unique spicy character with a distinctive aftertaste. Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Serving temperature: 8-10ºC)

Enjoyed via 750ml bottle. Pours a medium to dark brown with ivory head. Initial nose was one of a combination of tropical fruits (a little banana perhaps?) and dark fruits (prunes and raisons). The beer flowed nicely onto the palate, tasting of a candied sweetness. The finish was a nice blend of sweet and dry. Overall, a very nice dubbel. Well crafted and well presented.

Strykzone (2906) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - FEB 6, 2009
Pours a cloudy copper color. The glass is half tan foam that diminishes slowly. Nose is malt, yeast, and fruit. Lots of effervescence. Flavor is dark fruit, yeast, caramel, and spice. There is a dry bitterness that is somewhat unpleasant. There is a lot of good stuff going on here but for me it just didn’t work as well as hoped.

Bottle from Champane Wine. A - Poured a clear copper color with a huge frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. S- Moderate to heavy herbs, malt, yeast and alcohol aroma. T - Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish and small alcohol bite of moderate duration. M - Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. D - I would recommend this beer to a freind.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful red with a large beige tight head. Nose is sweet prunes, some caramel. Flavor is slight sweet fruit, some malt, and just a twinge of bitter on the short finish. Smooth, but not with a lot of complexity.
