This beer pours a mahogany color with a perfect beige head that lightly retains and has a bit of lacing. The aroma is different from other dubbels I’ve had, sour cherry, sweet malt, caramel, and a very fruity/berry note to finish it off. Taste is phenomenal, starts with the sour/acidic note turning to sweet candy sugar, then berries, and finishing turning into a bit of maltiness similar to bread. This is a fantastic beer, very different from others in the style, but in a great way. Love it

clear amber brown ruby color with a big white head and some small floaties in suspension... nice retention and lacing... very malty aroma, dark fruits in a light way, not a great deal of complexity to the aroma, quite sweet molassasy... lively initially followed by a wateriness, dark fruits and sweetness brown sugar dominate the flavor... average for a double, way too sweet and malty with just a touch of hops... not much of the belgian candi sugar or yeast flavor...

This is a good example of the style. As others have said, it is quite complex, with spice and yeast notes. It is reasonably bitter compared to other belgian dubbels.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2012 Bottle in Visby - amber body with a off white head - fruity nose - hard too describe why this is an outstanding beer, becouse the flavour are standard medium caramel, fruity and light hoppy - but it gives a nice warm mouthfeel that most beers dont :-)
