3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 neuromatt (610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 5, 2011
33 cL bottle from the LCBO, served in a Trappist glass. Pours hazy ruby with a moderate tan head. The head slowly fades to a thin cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of Belgian yeast, candied fruit, caramel and a touch of delicate spice. The flavour is moderately sweet with caramel, flowers and fruit. The finish is medium-long with flowers and fruit. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice dubbel with a delicate floral character. Well constructed, but the malts could be more complex. 2011-10-05
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 suprchunk (802) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - OCT 5, 2011
A dark caramel color with ruby highlights. Almost mahogany. Big-bubbled light tan head that is quick to drop and leaves a little lacing behind. Big metallic and caramel aroma. Malty and sweet in the mouth, with a big fruitiness. Along with a slight roastiness. A little sweet in the back. Overall not bad.

Deep brown pour with a thick tight tan head. Excellent clarity with a little bit of some ruby highlights. The aroma is really lovely. Lots of soft cherry and a touch of plums and toasted malt. A little bit of soft rummy character along with a lovely kiss of clove and spice. Sort of fruity with a touch of lingering berry. Blueberry along with a touch of sweet malt along the base. It’s well-integrated with a lot of soft spices coming through on the back. There is a little bit of leather flavour as well. A touch of light malt astringency comes through along with a touch bread crust. I like it.
