Pours a clear ruby brown color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of dark malt, toffee, molasses and mild alcohol vapors. The flavor is oriented on sweetness with its rich dark malts, molasses and toffee, there’s also some wildflower honey that manifests itself in the finish. The body has a good thickness with a smooth, creamy texture, the carbonation is lively. This is a very good dubbel, the malt is rich and well rounded, the sweetness is present but not cloying, solid stuff.

Pours a clear red colour with a good size lasting head.
Smells of raisins and spices, rather distinct.
Taste is very warm and fruity and goes down with a nice alcohol touch.

Sep 29, 2008 750 ml. bottle..Pours a rich creamy head, good duration, pleasant copper color....nose of sweet malts, some minor fruit overtones....initial taste rather bland, then malts, with minor spices, finishes rather lighter than expected. Mouth feel slightly watery.

Rather pale coloured for a dubbel with a thin off white head. Creamy Belgian malt aroma that is almost worth a seven. Good fruit and spice in the flavour that is supported well by the good malt. Lovely hint of liquorice in the finish. Decent stuff.

Sep 15, 2008 750ml bottle, Pours mahogany color, lightly hazy and with a creamy beige head that lingers and leaves some lacing. Aroma is molasses, spice and slightly tart fruit. Flavor is sweet and fruity, peach, raisins, yeast, spice and a lingering bitter aftertaste. Medium body and gentle carbonation. Nice beer.

Sep 14, 2008 Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Mahogany coloured with a thick, tight off-white head. Aroma of caramel and red fruit. Flavour was very sweet, to the point of being cloying, with a touch of spice, raisins and a short dry finish. A syrupy residue was left in the glass. Not for me.
