Dark fruit - figs and raisins comprise the nose. Pours a dark brown with mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste is lightly sweet with notes of figs, raisins, and sweet malts. Medium-light bodied with crisp carbonation. Overall, a good example of a Dubbel. Would drink again.

Deep fruit and caramel aroma. Clear amber with ivory head. Taste is moderate high dark fruit and rich malt. Moderate thin mouthfeel.

Beautiful rubyvred beer with red and golden highlights, slightly opaque, with a weak frothy head. Smell is lots of caramel and heavy alcoholic fruity sweetness. Touch of toffee-apples, cloves, maybe some cumin and coriander. Taste is rough and earthy, bitter with some sourness and a subtle alcoholic sweetness. Nice fizziness. Dry finish.

330ml bottle. Pours red with a decent white head. Mild aroma but may have been dulled by being well chilled. Taste is sweet, fruity with syrupy mouthfeel. Like it

0,3L bottle (from Wine of Galilee), BB 09.07.16. Pours dark ruby with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, caramel, malt, yeast. Flavor is sweet, malt, caramel, dark fruits, some metallic notes. Finish is malty with touch of alcohol. Overall: nice enough brew.

Cerveza de color ámbar oscuro. Aroma a malta con notas de caramelos y lúpulos. Sabor suave a malta tostada con un toque de fruta rojas. Fácil de beber por una cerveza de abadía.

The dark ruby color and the white head reminds me of the Chimay Bleue, but with a bit less character. The aroma is an interesting mix of yests and something spicy and herbs. The yests taste is also prominent, with a very pleasant bitterness and the beer almost sets my teeth on edge in a funny way. I liked also the fizzy sensation on the tongue. Nice!

Classic Belgian abbey dubbel since 1956 but with a history dating far more back in time. Hazy bronze colour, thick light beige head; caramelly and biscuity malts, iron again like in the Blond (I assume head stabilizing agent), pear, walnuts, banana, orange peel; bitter sweet main taste, somewhat metallic, caramelly and nutty with leafy hops in the finish. Just an ordinary dubbel with an industrial feel to it, but I’d prefer this anytime over its Leffe or Grimbergen counterparts.

Purchased in town earlier today. $6.99 for the 750 mL bottle. Pours a maroon reddish light brown with which an off-white head half a finger in length stood. Aromas of celery salt, burnt plastic, melted wax, Carapils, cotton/cheesecloth, furniture wood, and Belgian yeast. Tastes the same with the addition of ground cinnamon, sugar plums, and lime soda. An intriguing yet minorly disconnected Dubbel. Mouthfeel was like sloshing tap water around in your cheeks.

Bottle 30cl. Brown, but not too dark with a tiny off white head that fades quickly. Slight malts in the aroma. Taste is flat, bitterness all the way. Nothing special.
