Dark fruit - figs and raisins comprise the nose. Pours a dark brown with mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste is lightly sweet with notes of figs, raisins, and sweet malts. Medium-light bodied with crisp carbonation. Overall, a good example of a Dubbel. Would drink again.

300 ml bottle purchased in Greece and enjoyed in Delphi. Poured with a huge foamy head over a small brown body. Several pours needed to empty the bottle. Alcohol is not as well hidden as expected but the alcohol esters do blend nicely with the other flavors. Moderate complexity, including dark dried fruits, soft ripe fruits and pepper.

Bottle 30cl. Clear deep redbrown, average frothy beige head, good retention, thin layer with yeast islets remains, good lacing; sweet malt aroma, caramel, yeast, dark fruits, light banana, some mocca, bit alcohol; taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, bit toasted; medium body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation, aftertaste sweetbitter, spicy and woody notes; overall a pleasant Dubbel.

330 ml bottle pours a hazy reddish brown, light beige cap. Nice nose of sweet malt and very sweet, ripe fruits, bit of banana. Tastes great, malt and ripe fruits again which give way to a really interesting sour, warm and slightly salty finish. Good creamy mouth feel with enough carbonation to carry everything through. Very good.

Reddish amber, medium white head with spotty lacing. Nose is dried fruity, malty, spicy, metallic notes, probably from the yeast. Flavor is toasty malt, dried fruit, yeasty notes, coriander. Finishes with malty caramel sweetness. Pretty decent.

330ml bottle from Belgium in a Box - Brown coloured body, slightly opaque with a long-lasting cream-colored head. Wonderful aroma - fruity and nutmeg with a hint of butter. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Really nice.

330ml Bottle in Rembrandt Bar, Amsterdam (€4.00):
This one was a surprisingly good for a beer that was so easy to find in the Netherlands, a really nice Abbey style beer that was very well balanced with plenty of sweetness coming through from the offset but thankfully never really overpowered. The beer was an easy one to drink and is one that I wouldn’t mind picking up again in future.

butelka, warka do 29-07-16. Bardzo wysoka, lekko kremowa piana, opadajaca dosc powoli w mydlany nieco sposob. Samo piwo lekko metnawet, rubinowo-brazowe. Aromat glownie ciemnych owocow, karmelu, zboza, alkoholu. W smaku glownie owocowosc, kwaskowata, slodowe posmaki, lekka goryczka. w ustach pozostaje tez posmak przyprawowosci lekki, gozdzikowej chyba lownie.
