Bottle (330ml). Poured slightly hazy reddish-brown with a good sized light brown fizzy, pillowy lasting head. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate, fruits, with hints of roasted nuts. Taste is ... somewhat metallic and strongly alcoholic - there’s caramel malt and some woodiness, but the nose was more promising than this unbalanced mash-up of bitterness and brown sugar, although an interesting black pepper character develops on warming. Mouthfeel is on the light side and quite fizzy. Not bad, but one of the weaker dubbels I’ve tried.

Cloudy red amber color medium light brown head with not much bubbles seen in the glass. Sweet malt aroma at first but gives way to a wierd mold kind of smell. A definite rock sugar aroma noticed as well. Sweet initial taste transitions to a cherry tartness. Palate is light, not as bubbly as other strong belgiums. A well blended dubbel that handles its alcohol very well.

Poured a dark hazy brown with the typical dubbel head and lacing. Good aroma and flavors of malt, caramel, spice and a bit of fruit. Medium body makes it pretty drinkable. Pretty decent.

750 into bordeaux glass. Just a little yeast. Anise and peach stand out against a breadier background nose. Palate carries a weird bicarbonate tingle. Good but certainly not great.
