   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
JorisPPattyn (8034) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - NOV 22, 2003
Light amber; huge fluffy head, disappearing. Quite hoppy nose - noble hops, but immediately overwhelmed by metaloxide, wet dog, meaty. Taste starts again like the nose: quite hoppy. Some sugar, and metallic flavour is confirmed. Palate is very neutral. Not very well-bodied. In the end, the hoppy bitterness stays around. Not really bad. I would have preferred it being a bit more affirmative in the hops idea.

Bov (9810) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAR 5, 2003
cloudy orange colour, giant head with a beautiful lace, yeasty with honeyish notes, lot of carbonation, robust bitterness, long bitter orange finish - some analogies with Orval but there is something undefinable missing

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
Gusler (2653) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAR 3, 2003
The beer pours a translucent golden amber color, the head purposeful in size, the color off white and the residual lace a fine cover upon the glass. Mostly malt in the nose, lightly astringent, crisp and clean with the start slightly sweet, lots of malt, the top skinny in feel. Finish is biting in its acidity, the hops perky in their spicy bite, dry lingering aftertaste, drinkable, but not great.

omhper (19975) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2002
Bottled. Golden coloured and slightly hazy with dense, creamy haed. Aroma of fruit and honey. Sweet and malty with nice warming malt character. The finish is sweetish with rather low bitterness. Pleasant, but not overly interesting.

Blond with a big white creamy head. Hop aroma. hoppy taste with hints of spice. Medium bitter finish. A well balanced beer without any striking characteristics.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2003 Rerate 6/12/03: A white head and a blond-amber colour, the flavour is spicy and bitter-dry. <P> Beautiful golden color. Rather flat taste, still quite bitter. And all in the end a quite good palate.

Bitter, but still good. Much better than all the other Affligem-beers
