330ml bottle (Poirotti, Helsinki) Side by side with the ordinary Affligem blond. Rich orange, lively tight head. Light hoppy aroma. Body is succulent and very strongly but pleasantly hoppy. Clearly hoppy, but in a subtle and inviting way. A touch floral, very pleasant. Even better than the ordinary blond, except for the aroma, which is less complex.

Benzai (8910) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2013
Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Clear golden color, full sized soapy white head. Aroma is horrible: cardboard, musty, horse blanket. Yuk. Taste carboard and musty as well. Don’t like it at all. Sucks.

JorisPPattyn (8031) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - NOV 22, 2003
Light amber; huge fluffy head, disappearing. Quite hoppy nose - noble hops, but immediately overwhelmed by metaloxide, wet dog, meaty. Taste starts again like the nose: quite hoppy. Some sugar, and metallic flavour is confirmed. Palate is very neutral. Not very well-bodied. In the end, the hoppy bitterness stays around. Not really bad. I would have preferred it being a bit more affirmative in the hops idea.

A Sim rate (Bottle at the Kulminator): Very citric aroma but not overwhelmingly so with some soap too. Flavour is slightly spicy - perhaps corriander? The bottle expired in 2001 so maybe some of the flavour was lost in the years. Finish is particularly metalic and tartly alcoholic. Quite a decent beer. Appearence is gorgeously cloudy, with a nice thick initial head and decent lacing.

Golden color, medium white head. Aroma and flavor has a lot of hops, perhaps too much? Not floral. Mainly bitter and light.

Ernest (6343) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 23, 2004
Head is large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is clear dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately hoppy (flowers, lemon), with a note of coriander. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.

larsga (6309) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 22, 2011
Big shiny offwhite head. Yellow body with carbonation. Light floral fruity spicy aroma with candy notes. Dry-sweet fruity spicy herbal taste with oily notes. Light body. Fizzy mouthfeel. Dry-bitter herbal fruity aftertaste with metallic notes. Buttery finish. Not bad. Quite dry. Not that special, really. (0.33l bottle, Babelaar, Aalst.)

Glouglouburp (6104) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 2, 2006
Clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma is very typical blonde tripel (although it is not technically a tripel). Yeasty, some honey, a tad sweet, bready pale malt, some lemon/citrus. Nothing new, by the book belgian blonde/tripel. It’s like that polite kid that sat in front of you at school, everybody can only say good things about him yet you can’t find anyone who remembers his name.
