The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10ºC)

Bottle. Cellar temperature. Transparent golden colour. Reasonably active carbonation. Thick and fluffy white head. Lots of yeast in the aroma with apple skins, pepper, lemon zest and honey. Full bodied. Malt flavours come across first: grains, honey, bread and butter and tart apple juice with light green tea then mild grassy hops. Booze flavour is restrained. Finish is abrupt and malty.

Yeast, dough, bread and sharp coriander aromas on the nose. Dark, fizzy copper in color with a massive tan foam top. Powerful flavors of nuts, spices, barley, oats, coriander and alcohol. Thick, creamy malts with a moderate sweetness and a very subtle hop presence on the finish. Overall, this is a strong beer with a lot of well-balanced flavors and a large alcohol presence. I’d give this an A- rating.

This is really Affligem blonde - the unbalanced version. same sort of complex fruit (banana, melon, passionfruit) in the taste, but lots of alcohol to compete with. At first, seems like a very light-bodied tripel, but, after a few drinks, the "heaviness" begins to creep in. minimal hop finish. Definitely a solid offering.

Pours clear copper and hold with a good white head. Nose is bready biscuits, light caramel, ginger, cloves and grass. Taste is sweet but has a good bitter balance. Mouthfeel is crisp and lively. Medium body and a long aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A translucent amber with a strong aroma - fruity, yet the alcohol can be smelled. Remarkably smooth for such a strong beer with citrus and breadiness lingering on the tongue. Slightly bitter and dangerously quaffable.

750 ml bottle into signature chalice, bottled 6/27/2011. Pours slightly cloudy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice thin cap that lingers. Some decent lacing on the glass, with a good amount of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apricot, pepper, clove, banana, herbal, bubblegum, floral, orange, and yeast spices. Very nice, balanced, and complex aromas with good strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apricot, grape, banana, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, floral, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of apricot, lemon, banana, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, and yeast spices on the finish for a while. Fantastic flavor balance with spiciness; with pretty much no cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slightly creamy and slick mouthfeel as expected for the style. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with hardly any warming present on the finish. Very smooth, but is still definitely a sipper at 9%. Overall this is a highly excellent Tripel! Fantastic flavor balance and complexity; and extremely smooth to sip on. Recommended for Tripel fans.

Exquizit, just enormous beer. NIce foam, nice features and nice bouque. I liked it from start to end.

Brown cork and caged 750ml bottle, best before 17th Jan 2010, drank on one of my Belgian Beer Nights in Aug 2008. Middle of the road triple from a middle of the road brewery. Normal golden colour, big white head. Poured into various tulip and challice glasses, it looked fine. Aroma came with the regular hop, Belgian yeast and hay/grass typical of this style. 8.5% Alcohol comes through in the taste and mouthfeel, doesn’t dominate, but it is there for all to feel. Nothing wrong, but it is just another triple to tick off as having tried.

Pours a golden colour with a tall frothy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, fruits, caramel, alcohol and yeast. Taste is also sweet with fruits, caramel and yeast leading to a sweet fruity and mildly bitter finish. Light burn from alcohol on the way down. Overall very nice beer.
