COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10ºC)

Deep golden colour with largish, steady white head. Nice aroma of yeast, fruit malt and perhaps some hops. Taste is more to my liking than most tripels, better balanced and nicely complex. Fruity, spicey and malty, medium carbonation, dryish with a long fruity, bitter finish. Excellent.

Golden amber color with a creaming lacing white head. Citrus, pear with a touch of spice in the flavor with a creamy, smooth palate. Nice balanced finish.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with a huge creamy head. Quite some sweet malt in a delicious balance with the not too dominating hops. Spiced and very fresh but perhaps not the most outstanding of tripels. 200893

Served at 48 f from a 750ml caged and corked brown bottle: Bold, lightly bronze tinted gold with a towering cap of creamy white fluff. The cap has tremedous staying power, it roots itself like an old tree over the active yellow body. Lacing adheres to the tulip glass in a softly billowed sticky sheeting. Aroma is medium dry with slight grain tones bringing an earthy huskyness and is mildly peppered yeast. Tiny citrus ornaments hang in the background with a lemony spritzed pear juice. Flavors intice right from the get go with a pleasantly mild tone of balanced spice, fruits, dryness, and richness. On the lips its fruity with lemony tartness, pear juice evens it out to become much more manageable. Fluff-a-ly spritzy and boldly full on the palate with nice mild tones of yeast that have subtle little spices of pepper, clove, and herbal grasses. Lingering earthen grains trap the dryness within the spicy yeast and fondle the taste buds into submission into one nicely dancing-off-the-tongue fruity crispness. All the while keeps a well rounded fullness and malty body. The mild tones in this one are more to my liking for the triple style and favors a very decorous drinkability from start to finish. Great subtle, milder tones, and flavors to it that really make for a nice treat. Recommended.

Great rich orange body, white block of a head. Yep, Belgiany. Not outstanding. I prefer the dubbel.

A very nice abbey. A living foam and a very good taste.

Bottle. Fruity aroma, apples? Golden colour. Big stable creamy head. Flavour has a hint of caramellised sugar. Peppery, warming finish. A little astringent.

A solid abbey, nice spice to it. Doesn’t seem to have suffered from its takeover by Heineken. A world-class contender.

Bottle. Golden amber in colour with a large white rocky head, very nice lacing. Aroma was yeasty, with some pineapple, pears and peppery spices. Flavour of yeast, candy apples, bready malts. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a medium creamy bitterness.

Sparkling, lightly hazed golden colour. Rocky head - big, frothy and white. The nose is big and sweet with yeast and fruit. Candyish with light pepper and a touch of organic hops. The body contains a solid hop bitterness at the front which carries into the middle. Nicely warming with a light maltiness that does’t really come out. A bit too bitter for a triple, I thought.
