light & yeasty in the nose with green apples and alcohol standing out as well. Where was the nuttiness they claimed? A real spicy finish loaded with cloves.

What can I say? This is a good, solid Belgian Strong Ale. Is it chimay, or a Westy? No, but it’s still damned good. Ruddy golden in color with a gigantic head. Floral nose with earthy fruits, and some herb being most dominant. Flavor was fruity, strong apple was what I picked up mostly. Very subtle and soft on the palate. If you get the chance try some it’s woth it.

Beautiful head. Fruity taste, a little spicy with a bitter finish. A very good triple.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2006 This was quite good. Lots of grapes in the nose. Nutty and smooth flavor, well carbonated. Can I please get some more yeast? The quarter inch sitting in the bottom of my glass really wasn’t enough. Alcohol noticable, but not bad. Great beer.
ReRate: Nice solid head, orange hazy body. Aroma is dry, yeasty, slight citrus. Taste is yeasty, gently grainy, with a bitter finish that seems slightly out of place. Nice soft mouthfeel.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2003 This has got to be my favorite belgium triple - especially at $20/case. This triple pours out with a perfect amount of head which quickly disapates, but the bubbles keep rolling in your mouth. Hints of very light spices, orange, licorace, honey, and cinnamon. Very smooth.

Very nice, rounded flavor. Runs toward being quite sweet with a distinct honey flavor. Some yeasty, almost sourdough notes in there as well. Surprisingly smooth for a triple.
