The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10ºC)

Hazy orange color with a nice fluffy head. Some sweet orange citrus and fruity yeast aromas. Sweet yeasty flavor with a bit of bready malts and spice lingering. Flavors are subtle and pleasant, making this a good drinking beer but not a spectacular "tasting" beer.

Pours an almost clear gold, big rocky off white head, just lovely. Soft aroma of bread and light citrus. Wonderful mouthfeel with a medium/full body and very light fine carbonation. Solid malt base with fruit and citrus flavors - nicely balanced. An undercurrent of hop bitterness offsets the malt leaving a not too sweet and not too bitter middle of the road finish. Little evidence of the alcohol, and without the sourness of some tripels. Not my first, and won’t be last. Happy New Year!!

Pale clear orange and full of tiny floaties (my fault, crap pour) but that doesn’t spoil the experience. Large fluffy white head with a lovely toffee/fudge aroma. Sweet full mouthfeel.......thoroughly enjoyable.

Pours a clear orange golden color with a thin white head. Good aroma of yeast, citrus and mild hops. Good flavor of yeast, citrus and hops, it finishes bitter and very dry. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and expansive carbonation. This tripel stands out from others because it’s very dry in the finish, this is a solid effort and I wouldn’t mind drinking this again.

750 mL brown bottle purchased from Home Service Beer Beverage Discount Center, Glenview, NY. ABV 8.5%. Hazy orange hued Belgium ale having a long-lasting large white head with good lacing. Soft carbonation. Nice fruity and sweet malt aromas. Medium-to-full bodied ale that starts with a slight sweet malt with fruity flavor and finishes with sweet malty flavor. This is a very good drinkable Belgium ale.

Bottle shared with tupalev. Pours a clear bubbly golden-orange with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, malt, hops, caramel, spices and yeast. Nice! Sweet flavour follows the aroma but has a mild alcoholic bite to it. Hides the 8.5% very well and goes down really smooth. Medium bodied. A pleasant surprise, this is a very good Tripel!

Hazy and dark gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas of citrus fruit, peach, bready malts, and a touch of spicy yeast. Heavier in the mouth and more malt flavors than other tripels that I’ve sampled. More of the orange and baked bread in the mouth, along with some sugary sweetness, herbal hops, and some black pepper. Well hidden alcohol presence. Very enjoyable. Thanks to radiomgb for the sample.

Amber pour, fluffy white head that recedes to sitting around the edge of the glass. Minute lacing present. Strong hebal and alcohol orange rind aroma. Slight yeast in the nose as well. Sweet start, lots of cirtus, malty bread in the middle, finish is lond and cloying. Alcohol orange peel aftertaste. Reminiscant of a malt liquor. Not that great an exmple of the style.

I don’t know how I missed out rating this last year when I got the gift pack (I bought 2 of them!). Thanks to Blankboy for sharing the bottle to correct my omission. Dark yellow, medium bubbly white head, looks great. Strong yeast aroma, lots of light malt, and spices that seem to suggest freshly baked bread. More of the same in taste, very strong yeast flavours, alcohol, some hops, and more bread. It truly is a wonderful tasting beer that is a tad harsh from the warming alcohol. A nice hint of lemon at the end. Really good!

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2005 Spectacular!! Aroma: Clove, bread doe, honey. ... Appearance: cloudy gold with generous, frothy head. ... Flavor: Complex blend of honey, bread doe, nuts, clove and melon, all in a thick, chewy body. Delightful! ... Palate: Melon, honey, sweet, with the hops kicking in to give it a lightly dry finish. Overall: One of the best beers I’ve sampled. Would gladly stock my frig with this stuff. I highly recommend it!!!
