3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted from 750ml bottle. the initial aroma was of Light yeasty and toasted malt. The head was frothy, off white that lasted for the majority of the time in the glass. When it did dissipate, it left ample lacing. The color was a hazy yellow amber color. The initial flavor was strong hoppy and alcholic with malty finish that lasted quite a while. somewhat mossy flavor. My first Belgian ale. It was good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2007 Hazy gold with creamy white head. Very lively. Chalky texture, has a real spicy, nutty medicinal flavor, slightly fruity. Pretty complex. Finishes dry and oily. I like this, but I thought it would be better.
I enjoyed this beer so much more the second time around. I re-rated from 3.2 to 3.9

hazy brown gold with a medium sized white head that settles into a thin creamy layer. yeast, spice, lemon, peach, tropical fruit aroma. yeast, candy, peach and alcohol in the flavor. the alcohol shows through a little too much. i also taste something medicinal occasionally.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fairly complex flavor that manages to be rich and fruity as well as dry with a highly carbonated mouthfeel. Medium bodied and good but nothing much to stand out from the pack.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Iíll start off by saying: I donít know much about these beers.
one of the better beers iíve ever smelled, and poured a cloudy amber color. The one bad thing about this beer was the price.. of course i did get a huge 750ml bottle, but for 7.50 yikes.
I really like the taste of these beers.. real hard to explain.. taste dark, looks light, and kicks ur ass with the heavy alc content. I think the freakest part about this beer are the floating chunks of yeast in the bottem of the bottle. I would reccoment atleast trying this beer once.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A good, representative Belgium. The flavor is a little rough compared to a Duvel, and this took some getting used to. At about halfway into a 750ml bottle it got good as I got used to it. Good appearance with the nice meringue like head I like and lots of Belgian lace. I have had better.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared with sckressler at The Flying Pig...
Appears a glowing golden amber with a pillowy fluff of white head on the top of the brew that wonít die.
Smell is of aged cork, pils malt, candi sugar, citrus, mild dough, and citrus.
Taste is of the same aromas with a mild pear and citrus flavor coming through. The odd cork smell and taste really are detracting from this.
Mouthfeel is of caramel sugar and some spices lingering about. It was ok.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
750 ml bottle, corked. I had to use a pair of pliers just to get the cork out. Pours a somewhat cloudy honey color with a hugely over-carbonated head. Strong aroma of yeast and alcohol. Slight citrus in the nose as well. Starts out sweet tasting with lots of cirtus, yeasty in the middle. Then a noticable off-flavor, almost like modelling glue, kicked in. I see this beer is very highly rated, my bottle sure didnít meet these standards. I was disappointed.

Poured a hazy light amber color with a small off-white head. Notes of toffee, apples and yeast in the aroma. Aged malt in the flavor. Sweet and a little fruity. Lively feel.
